 That is seriously impressive ([Diet Dr.Pepper] I'm sounding too posh). Has it got a inside? With one in a map it would look just amazing. I feel an urge too do a load of Sketchup models now.

Thanks man. I wasn't thinking of adding an inside to this one, but I could if you want. My plan is to have mabe 10 buildings you could go inside, and mabe 20 you can't go inside. By the way here's another thing I whipped up. Remember comments / suggestions welcome.

Wow!!! I love the look of that! It's got a awesome style to it while it also looks like it would have extremely good gameplay, while being nice and low-poly. I really should do some stuff in SketchUp.

Enjoy :D
 :runaway: What hope do I have against that? Just put some continuous fire effects and you have a burning building, or leave it and you have a burnt building.

Well, I made some enterable Tatooine houses. When I get the mod tools back, I'll texture them.

EDIT: Does anyone know if there's a button that allows me to eliminate useless / pointless lines in sketchup? If I have a square with a line that randomly divides it, is there a way to remove the line?

Nice buildings. :D Also about the pointless lines, I'm not exactally shure what you mean, but try retracing the lines you already have a few times from point to point. Then retrace the part you want to cut off to the part you want to keep and delete. Hope that makes sense. :?

Sorry if the picture is small, but I couldn't zoom into it much more or else it would have zoomed way out.

You're supposed to see a small sliver of extra line that interfered with my model. Sometimes in Sketchup, especially for quadrilaterals, a plane doesn't form because some lines are skew, rather than parallel, as they should be.
________
/________\ <<That was what I was trying to make. There were 4 of them, arranged around a square. They all had a plane, except one, because one line was bent back. From this view, it still looks like the one I have right there. But a side view reveals this:
___
\ /
\/
/\
/ \

Color coded to show lines more accurately.
So you need a line connecting the two ends of it so you get two triangles.

Not much you can do to avoid this, though. That's why I asked.

It's defenately a lot easier. You can type in exact measurements as either fractions like 1/2' or 6". Eight one works. It also has cm., in., meters yards, feet, even mm. Getting textures are a lot easier too. Another thing is it draws straight lines on the X and Y axis, as well as a blue line for the height. It may seem like you options are limited in when you first start modeling in sketchup, but you learn a bunch of new techniques as you come along in experiance. Then the possibilities are almost endless.

I just cooked it and I'm afraid it's a lie.

SketchUp is extremely simple. The whole point of SketchUp was building modelling that went with Google Earth. SketchUp can't do at all as many things as XSI, but a lot of people new to modelling will prefer is due too it being so much simpler. If you are already familiar with XSI, I'd recommend staying with it, due to it having loads more function. I'd recommend a newbie to use SketchUp over XSI for buildings, but that's it.
