Why Can't I place Things?
How come i can't place anything other than the things that are already in my ODF file. I move things in there and it says i place them but theres nothing there. Can some one help? BTW does anyone else get the "page cannot be displayed message" when sumiting maps.

RE: Why Can
You need to have the proper MSH to place an object and see it

RE: Why Can
so i just look for anything with it's name in it in the MSH like if I wanted to use AA turret i would need antiaircraft_chunk1.msh. I moved all the ones i could find for the hoth command consoles and nothing happens when i select it to move in Zero Editor

yes that it true, you want to get the .msh folders that have the name of the object on it but the .msh is just the texture. you need the .odf file which has the accual object. go to the assets folder and thats where all the files are maps/objects/vehicles/units ... and when u munge the map, if it says your missing any files that are required by the object, you need to put the files into your maps .odf and .msh folders
i hoped i helped you

RE: placing objects
I have a similar error...
I have both the MSH and ODFs. But when I go to place them, they don't show up? Help?

In which folder are located the *.ODF files you're trying to place on your map, Epena ?

RE: placing objects
C:\BFBuilder\DataHLMD\Worlds\HLMD\ODF
And C:\BFBuilder\DataHLMD\Worlds\HLMD\ODF\RhenVar
Which worked before.
I didn't expect it to, though.
Just the ODF folder, which now only displays Bespin ODFs.

RE: placing objects
Shouldn't you be getting your ODF files from your "C:\BFBuilder\Assets\Worlds\ODF" folder? I don't know... it's been a while since I've modded for BF1... I can't remember too clearly, but I do remember all the ODF and MSH files coming from the Assets folder... I don't even remember there being a "DataHLMD" folder on mine... Excuse me if I'm wrong; it's been a few months since my last mod map...

Heh...
Yes, that is where the ODF's come from, but you've gotta put them in your MOD's ODF for them to find them....right?
HLMD is my map abbreviation. Halmad.

Yes, you should copy ODFs, MSHs and TGAs from the Assets folder into your mod, unless they are from Common, in which case you don't need to.

RE: placing objects
Yay I was right!
Still doesn't really help with the placing, though.
