Binding an object to Bones

Post by Fluffy_the_ic »

I'm trying to make a giant GT sign with a giant jawa leaning over it. I got rid of all of the extra parts I could on the jawa, meaning all of the stretched textures, and cut of his hands, therefore, I need to have him have his arms crossed, and I can't seem to bind him to Psychofred's bones to make it happen.

You don't need bones to do that, just make a polygon selection on the arms and rotate or bend them however you want, you could also do this with a lattice.

Okay, can that be done in Mod Tool? I do the models in Mod Tool, and export in Foundations.
If not, how do you do that?

That's fine, XSI 6 Mod Tool is basically the same as XSI Essentials with a few limitations, but it is actually more powerful than Foundation.

To do this with a lattice just select the polygons on the arms and go:
Get>Primitive>Lattice
and adjust the subdivisions in the ppg to suit your needs, then select points on the Lattice and move/rotate or whatever you need to do, then freeze the mesh and delete the Lattice.
