Reducing File Size?

Post by Pur3_0wn4g3 »

Im not sure if there is another topic on this. If there is, could someone please link me?

My side folder of my map (in the addon folder) is really huge. What would be the best way to reduce the size? What files would i have to delete?

My map is conquest only, on Mos Eisley, and I am only modding the CW era.

Thanks in advance.

In your world folder, delete all of the the mshs and tgas that yuo are not using. You can also delete odfs, but they aren't usually that big.

In your side's req file, take out all the lines of units you are not using.

Or delete files of units you are not using.

The munge only adds the odfs and mshs called for. You could have 2000mb of odfs and mshs and if your map only calls for 100mb of it that's all that will end up in your lvl file.

To answer the question, Maul is right. Open up [side name].req, remove any lines you don't need (like vehicles).
