why did you use a imperial transport shuttel instead of the republic gunship as that was seen in the game (darth vader training level)?

I don't remember seeing an LA-AT in ANY form in that game. I'm almost sure that was a Sentinal-class Shuttle (or whatever class Mav is using). You did see gunships in that game, but they were not LA-ATs. Not by a long-shot. Again, correct me if I'm wrong on this.lesovikk1 wrote:there was something bugging me but now i remember this is just a question mav![]()

In the Wii version of the game, the Empire was shown using LA-AT's in the first level with Darth Vader. In the second level, Kota's militia used a ship very similar in design to the LA-AT.

MA-AT's aren't just modded LA-AT's, they were actually official imperial spacecraft.
On-Topic: BTW, would there be the slightest chance of seeing an MA-AT in this, Mav?

I think it is a Lambda-class Shuttle in the nextgen consoles versions.

Funny, you're probably right, becuase It's been about 5 months since I last played the training mission, so my memory might be faulty, but this is a pointless discussion. I also like the new name, "The Dark Times." I think it fits alot better.AQT wrote:In the Wii version of the game, the Empire was shown using LA-AT's in the first level with Darth Vader. Drexl also used an LAAT on Raxus. There were definitely LAATs in the first mission (I have both XBox360 and PS2 versions, they differ in the first mission)

Fine; there hasn't been a lot to update for the past week; I had some computer issues that prevented me from doing any work last week. I'm still finishing up wave modes, and then just a few more modes to add after that. Will add pictures when I have something to show.Broken_box wrote:Sure has gotten quiet in here.......how's the mod going?

If you mean there is less spam popping up last time its even better, Im pretty sure Mav is still working on this mod and will post some updates as soon as there will be something to post.
And 'Battlefront Unleashed' is still part of the topic so name is not the reason.

My experience tends to find there is less news towards the release of a mod. Mav is probably sorting out the more mundane stuff now (bugs and such-like).

Re: The Dark Times (fmr. "Battlefront Unleashed")
Ok, so. Like I tried to make clear, I was laid up from doing any work on this for more than a week, due to computer issues, and yes, partly what ggctuk says is true - I'm doing a lot more of the "under-the-hood" work now which unfortunately doesn't lend itself to showing as many pretty pictures as often.
However, here is some of what I've been working on:
Wave Mode: Redux
Last time I mentioned wave mode, I showed you what the mode was going to look like and I showed you what one of the wave modes was. Here is my plan (and mostly finished) wave mode:
Coruscant, Death Star, Felucia, and Kashyyyk all have singleplayer wave modes. They all loosely follow a level from "the Force Unleashed." Most of them use Starkiller as the hero - Kashyyyk is the exception; it follows Darth Vader through the (introductory) first level of the Force Unleashed.
However, I did mention that I'd try and include a multiplayer wave mode. I think I've succeeded at that (pending real multiplayer testing, of course), and that's what I'm going to cover now.
The multiplayer wave mode is set on Hoth, and follows four Alliance troops on a scouting mission to an abandoned facility (yes I know this does not make sense, timewise). At the beginning of their mission, the rest of their scouting party has given up on their survival and left them to die at the hands of the wampas (yes I totally cribbed a lot of ideas from "Left 4 Dead").
The four troops must work together to make it through the facility by capturing checkpoints, reach their ship, and repair it to make it off the planet.
(In the above screenshot, the leftmost number represents "wave number" - as with any wave mode - and the rightmost represents number of teammates left.)
This is set up differently for singleplayer (yes, it's available there too) and multiplayer.
Singleplayer:
-One life (you die, you lose)
-Three AI companions (they loosely follow you, it is advised to use the F4 "follow" command to get them to follow tighter)
-Weaker Wampas
Multiplayer:
-Four lives (shared across the team)
-No friendly AI
-Play on either Wampa or Rebel team (max 4 players per side)
-Can't use the same player twice (die as the Bothan, for example, must use different player)
-Stronger Wampas
The multiplayer version is definitely harder. It can be played with fewer than four (or eight) people, but I would recommend having at least two humans on the Rebel team to win at all (I haven't yet beaten it solo), and if you want to have humans on the Wampa team, I would recommend filling up the Rebel team first. They will lose a lot. Singleplayer is challenging but not nearly as much so as multiplayer.
