First-person animations

Post by Fiodis »

How do you create new animations for the arms and hands you see in first person? I'm assuming you need different bones than Unit_Template_beta. If so, where could I get them from?

you either have to rebuild them using the references from psych0freds site or you can ask somebody with ultimate unwrap 3d (acemastermind and fragme) if he can convert the hirarchy for you

Trick is getting a skeleton rebuild to export and work properly.

If you're going to try making reload animations, the gun needs to be enveloped with a bone for ech moving part, and then it'd probably have be part of the ist person skeleton at that point to work.

I have a few ideas (like the above one, I have a few more kicking around in my head randomly) on how to get custom weapon specific animations ingame, such as reloading, switch etc. But it amounts to a crude model and odf hack in one of the ideas. I've also been too lazy/busy to try much of anything with SWBF recently.
