Mod Map Trailers

Post by Lord-Bandu »

I was gonna post this in Rends' Coruscant thread but I didnt want it to go off topic.

I am impressed by Rends' trailer and would like to do something similar for a map im soon to release.

What tools are needed ?

I have Fraps and Photoshop Elements (if thats any help)

Could some1 write a small tutorial on this thread please?
Guru, maybe you could make this a Sticky thread (no not that way!!! :D ) here at GT ,so others can learn the ways .

(Thats if some1 replies with a turorial that is)

Features needed :

Video(obviously)
Music
Headers(writing - "coming soon" etc)

Im quite a whizz on Cubase SX so I could get the music changing ,sfx bangs etc ) but how I would implement this into the video file ,i do not know.

Thx

I am not really a movie genious, but it would be very easy if you had a Macintosh and Imovie.
1. In windows, use fraps to record the movie by pressing the hotkey (make as many mmovies you want because you can edit the later)
2. In widows moviemaker (wich came with windows XP for me), drag the clips in the order you want, edit the clips by following the directions that they give you.
3. Add audio and credits (which also can be the intro)
4. Export the the format of your choice.

so - is it for creating a trailer to the map? or how to add movies in-game? like in the Loading screen? btw, can you even do that - so you create your own Planet-Zooms???

I'd like to create Loading Movies if possible :D :D :D

and btw:
in XSI, I saw, that you could skin it with a movie clip, like a TV or something - well, at least so the texture possibly changes  if I'd like to create a TV, should I then give it a texture as a movie clip in XSI?

well

C ya :D

RAD Game Tools can allow you to convert any movie file (*.MOV, *.AVI, *.WMV, etc...) into *.BIK format. (The file format employed by SWBF)
And reverse process is possible, that's to say convert *.BIK files back into *.AVI.

Only if this game manages *.BIK files... (It's easy to know : This kind of games has a file named "binkw32.dll" in one of its folders)
Of course, SWBF belongs to this category, but there are also Star Wars KotOR series, LEGO Star Wars, etc...
