You could do that if you'd want to. (only if you think it's ready for it yourself)

I think I'd be. (if you'd release it today, I have time for it. Otherwise it may take a bit longer)

Re: The Darth Bane Series, Map One - Apatros - Mining Colony
Ok, well, I'll start. The first thing that literally shocked me, was the fact that the unzipped version of your map was almost 500 mb. That's quite a size! I'm sure there are possibilities to lower the filesize, right now it's simply enormous.
On to the map. The environment is great. I can't remember how the Korriban from KOTOR looked, but you've managed to make all the objects that you used fit together nicely. However, in some parts you placed too much fog which caused lag at those points.
Here are some actual bugs:
-missing sounds for all the new weapons/units
-Almost all the temples are floating above the ground
-There wasn't a team that was asssigned to the Techno Union ship.
-There are dead clones in KOTOR
-wrong icon for KOTOR
-Lots of barrier improvement can be done and planning seemed absent as well
-CP #3 is on a spot that's very hard for AI to reach, I'd suggest lowering it's position
-The order in which you could select units were a mess
-There is no points to unlock for the clone assassin
I hope you can us these points to your advantage, good luck with the continuation of your map.

I too would like to have beta tested but it looks like you already sent it so I think I am a bit late.

Re: The Darth Bane Series, Map One - Apatros - Mining Colony
But not too late, I can send it to you if you want, bobfinkl.
@mswf: Thanks for your report, I will definately lower the filesize, the dead clones would be gone and I'll do what I can with the sides
For the clone assassin, at how many points should he be unlocked?
As you probably know, this is my second ever map and I don't have a clue how to change the icons/cpicons etc, but I hope I can change them somehow
For lag, on my Pc there isn't any (prbably because he's brand new)
And the temples aren't floating for me, weird
I hope all those things you mentioned would be ironed out until the 1.0 release
Again, thanks for your help, mswf

Re: The Darth Bane Series, Map One - Apatros - Mining Colony
Well, it's important to walk right up to every object you place, if you look carefully, you can see that they are almost all just a bit of the ground (if not from the front, they're floating from the back)
Also, there's an object with no collision near CP3 with no collision. (it's a tall big builder with a texture that's a bit low-rez)
About the icons, there should be somethings about that in the docs that came with the 1.3 patch.

Re: The Darth Bane Series, Map One - Apatros - Mining Colony
Just finished playing both modes and this is what I think.
Positive: Great environment, Darth Bane, new units, donno for sure but it looks like you did some combo editing for some heroes.
Negative: Now this is where I always go in depth about things since this is what you really need to know.
1. This is probably a personal opinion but the units did far too little damage it took me 2 seconds to kill an enemy which can be quite annoying.
2. Environmental effects, way too many I doubt that there really would be bombs and such going off constantly like that and besides it's adding extra lag to those with lower end machines, and in the same category the lighting I noticed came from the center of the map, bad idea, put it where the sun is coming from and turn it in the direction it faces and you will get the best effect.
3. Map layout, not awfully bad but not that good. There wasn't much of an apparent structure to the map it should have much more structure than it did this moreso goes into the gameplay section (cp placement more specifically).
4. Gameplay, this is by far the most important thing I have to say. While the map itself was great looking besides what I had said already the gameplay... worst feature of the map. Firstly the cp's were put in a linear direction and 2 of which were right next to each other, never a good idea. Secondly the AI are clueless they need loads more planning and barriers and barriers most importantly you should have those on EVERY object, I know it's tedious work but it's necessary, also hintnodes and planning could have been better the latter the least important in my opinion. Thirdly I saw so much that could have been done with the gameplay many objects were placed PERFECTLY for some great gameplay, the arena for example could have 3 or so cps in it and end up with some great yavin: arena style gameplay (yavin: arena was a really good swbf1 map by the way) and the cps by the techno union ship should be gone (might I add the techno union ship should go with them) there are loads of temples all over where cps should be placed, clusters of objects are also great places for cps.
Lastly here are the bugs I found:
1. Shadows flicker (probably to do with all those explosions and the placement of the light)
2. Floating objects (only one I really noticed was the arena which had quite a few floating areas)
3. Textures could use some contrast (just open Gimp and edit the brightness/contrast)
4. Yavin boulders have no collision/lowrez texutres (no solution just delete them and replace with endor boulders)
My final thoughts on the beta is that this is VERY good especially for a begginer, just use what mswf and I said to fix up the map and it'll be great

You know where to find an in-depth doc on planning and barriers.

It looks...ok. Bit flat. Maybe some mine shafts and rubble strewn around would be nice, and perhaps some barracks for the miners/a small mining camp. And a bar of some sort; I definately recall young Bane gambling with Old Republic soldiers somewhere.
