Just the Conversion Pack version - it's set up in a way that makes it compatible with this kind of retroactive add-on; the standalone version is not.TML wrote:Great! Will you also be doing this with your individual release of Space Endor, or just the Conversion Pack version?

It is actually coming along fine; I have learned that, on the bad side, I can't make MP work with this map with the goofy Lua-loaded-objects setup I was using. On the good side, I was using that, because I learned that either along the way I did enough polygon reduction to drop the map down below the game's limits, or that I was simply wrong about the problem in the first place. In any case, I can now load all the objects through a normal .wld file, like every other map, and so it works as planned online.

Ah cool, thats really good news. Me and a few of my mates like to play maps online and add in a bit of RPG, I can hardly wait! Good luck again.Maveritchell wrote: I have lost three testers so far due to cranial explosion - it's a real danger!

I am curious, are there any plans for an objective mode where you duel with vader? IMO, it would seem incomplete without one.

Re: Death Star II: Throne Room
I think you are right, which is why the hunt modes (both Dark Times and GCW) exist where it is just Luke vs. Vader. There is no special scripting for these beyond the tweaks made to make it work well in SP, because I don't feel that anything beyond this setup is necessary to support the "duel" atmosphere, but they do provide the opportunity you mention.AgentSmith_#27 wrote:I am curious, are there any plans for an objective mode where you duel with vader? Re: Death Star II: Throne Room
This map really looks excellent. I can't really see how you *could* add much in an objective mode. I do have two ideas that in my narrow opinionated view would make the duel "better"
1. Significant health increases for both Luke and Vader so that you can have a good, decent length duel. I've always thought duels in battlefront are much too short.
2. I'd love to have this track, or at least the part where Luke goes into rage mode against Vader as part of some ambient music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpO0nvwjTrY

If I'm posting a link to a video here in the US I'm afraid I can't check if it's viewable in Germany on account of the Atlantic Ocean getting in the way of transit.
Mav, something I wanted to ask; is the online problem with the spawned objects because they're LUA-spawned objects and using LUA that way breaks the online compatability, or just because the low-end computers can't handle them online?

Calm down, Anakin - remember, the link was directed to one person (me) to give an idea. If you're really wondering what it was, it was simply the "Emperor's Throne Room" theme. And in answer to the first question, yes, I agree that it is essential, which is why it was already there, as my testers could attest. Like I said, the goal here is being accurate to the movie, and music is a critical part of that.Anakin wrote:why don't you all understand that there are some members who cannot watch some videos??
My guess is that it has specifically to do with the use of Luacode in that way. I couldn't even host it on my decent laptop, and in any case hosting shouldn't be bogged down by resource requirements anyway. As mentioned though, this is really a nonissue - I only mention it for the edification of anyone reading.Fiodis wrote:Mav, something I wanted to ask; is the online problem with the spawned objects because they're LUA-spawned objects and using LUA that way breaks the online compatability, or just because the low-end computers can't handle them online?

Maps like this are difficult simply because it requires not only a lot of modeling work, but because it also requires a lot of looking at and sorting through source material. There are really only about three maps I know of that I would consider "movie-accurate," or at least close to it:AgentSmith_#27 wrote:Awesome. I had an idea you'd have already included it.I'd love it if this map would start a trend of other modders trying their hand at more movie-accurate maps. I would myself but I fear I don't possess the modeling prowess it would require in most cases.
RepSharpshooter's Palpatine's Office
Rends's Mos Eisley Spaceport
Koolaid7g's Naboo: Theed Hangar
I'd like to think that I pushed the accuracy to an even higher level on this map, but to be fair, mine is also the smallest and consequently easiest to get exact details done within a reasonable timeframe.

Re: Death Star II: Throne Room
Yes, and those are three of the very best battlefront 2 has to offer IMO (particularly spaceport and theed hanger) and from what I can tell it's looking like yours will join, if not surpass them. I'd say I'm more anxious to play this map than I was to play dark times 2.
