Well on the trailor of the offical site the person speaking at the start says he's from or something about the 501st. Mabye the campain is based on them since they are in the clone wars and becaome the stormtroopers(when Darth Vader leads them on the jedi temple) of the 501st as well. It would make sence.

It is that, I think... But do not forget there's also a map on Kashyyyk : In Episode III, the 501st legion has not fought there...

Well you know those people. They have probaly tweeked it so they did. Either that or you play as another legion or even the droids sometimes?
