Re: Finally, Battlefield 3
I'm curious to see how these BF2 maps play with the new "Destruction Leap". More or less excited, actually.

I think it'll be great. Bring new life. I just hope it doesn't segregate the community right off the bat. And yes. Karkand and Omen. Excellent maps. I hope Wake makes it back sometime. I hope also Mashtuur City and Sharqi Peninsula.

Re: Finally, Battlefield 3
I do indeed mean Battlefront 3. BFIII, or BF3 is its common abbreviation and was used long before Battlefield 3 came along, but I see your point now that Battlefield is here. Maybe we sould refer to Battlefront III as BFIII instead of BF3...Moving_Target wrote:Wait. What? true BF3? This is the true BF3. It's the official sequel to BF2. Unless I'm reading your post wrong.ggctuk wrote:Well, I've always wanted to try Battlefield out, and this ought to give me my fix, at least until the true BF3 comes out

I hope my rig can handle those graphics, they look pretty intensive.

Wow, I can't wait. And apparently, the game has customization like BFH and BFPlay4Free.

Re: Finally, Battlefield 3
Looks like the limited edition will have 4 extra classic maps from BF2, including Karkand.
This themed expansion pack features four legendary maps from Battlefield 2 boldly re-imaged with Frostbite 2 physics, destruction, and visuals. Completing the package are classic Battlefield 2 weapons and vehicles, unique rewards, new achievements/trophies, and more. For those who don't pre-order to secure the Limited Edition, Battlefield 3:Back to Karkand Expansion content will be available for purchase approximately one month after the game's release.

I think I'll pre-order, or else it will cost extra.

OH NOES! If that poster is legit, it means the game is gonna get DLC-milked. I don't have a problem with companies making a profit, but not only does it break compatibility when some people have certain maps and others don't, but it's also fairly reminiscent of Activision to release a map-pack immediately upon release of the game.

Re: Finally, Battlefield 3
Well I'm still a bit bitter about the whole "VIP" deal with BFBC2. Especially because most of the VIP maps were different game modes of maps that should have been there to begin with. So I wouldn't be particularly surprised if it happened again. Not that I don't welcome these old maps, it's just we know they're already made now. Essentially we're paying to unlock something that's already on the disc. It's pretty stupid.Grev wrote:OH NOES! If that poster is legit, it means the game is gonna get DLC-milked. Re: Finally, Battlefield 3
Very, but it's not like we can really do anything about it. That is one of my fears about it though. With that dlc it'll split the community right off the bat. Which is quite stupid.
Also other news in on the commander role in BF3.

Re: Finally, Battlefield 3
Modern warfare knock off my A**e!!!
MODERN WARFARE Knock off
The modern warfare franchise is way behind DICE's BF. They have neglected the PC gaming community. Have you forgot that FPS are meant for PC and only as been ported to console cos that is where the money is. Battlefield games still inputs all the little extras that i expect for PC...
Enough of a rant:
You guys need to play BFBC2 whilst you wait for the release of this. Join Myself, MasterTuf, Eddietoast, Qdin and Rebel Scum. We are on most nights running around flying the GT flag... still! [GT] TAG is applicable.
Bring back the old magic
Nihillo wrote:To be honest, I'm not excited for Battlefield 3, I bet it's going to be just another Modern-Warfare knock-off or whatever. Besides, I have the "realistic simulation of shooting terrorists in the desert" area pretty much covered already in my gaming library.

I never catch you online, which time zone are you in? Would love to play some matches with you. I could provide a TS (sadly) 2 server, too.

To be honest, I'm not excited for Battlefield 3, I bet it's going to be yet another gimmicky first person shooter about the war against terror/russians/zombies/you-name-it. Not that there's anything wrong with those [points at the "Games I'm Playing" section of own profile], I'm just tired of the same stuff coming out every single year.
Didn't mean to offend your tastes, I like the Battlefield franchise as well; I just wish they would move on to something else, like they did with Vietnam.

@Nihillo: Basically you're tired of the modern setting, just like with WWII back in the early to mid 2000s.
