Well, first off, call it something other than unofficial 1.5 patch... Zerted made those patches (with the help of the community) and its best to not name-steal. Second, the BF1 conversion pack already has all of these maps converted from bf1 to bf2. Third, mav already has a galactic conquest mode, and they are hard to do. Fourth, a limit to members should be set. Otherwise you have "too many cooks in the kitchen" which can be disastrous. Here is what I am suggesting:
Your team make a map pack of 4-6 maps. It would be much easier to do. They can have campaigns. No galactic conquest at this time. I think there should be a limit of 4-6 people on the team. The maps should also be more original. Here are my map suggestions:
Mustafar: Droid Facility
The droid facility on mustafar as per episode 3. Could have an animated production line, sealed off from the players, but visible. Would have outside and inside access, mostly inside. The goal of the campaign would be to infiltrate the base, and shut off the production line. The player would have to turn off 4 randomly placed consoles to achieve the objective, along with fight a boss, the droids new super battle droid. High health, average weapon damage, lots of rockets. Would be played by the clones.
Hoth: Echo Base:
Echo Base on hoth. It would have to be medium sized, and not exactly like vanilla bf2 hoth. I would say more trenches and hill, and more turrets. Also, I would have a more variety of turrets. i.e. more infantry turrets. The health of the AT-AT lowered. Same with weapon damage. It could have a faster firing anti air gun with lower damage. It would have a bigger indoor part too, to feel more "base like". A campaign idea would be to have the rebels stop the attack on echo base. To do that, they will need to repair the ion cannon to destroy the imperial star destroyers before they land. To repair the ion cannon, they need a 3-5 parts and 2-3 consoles switched on. A sound effect would be played of the ion cannon firing when the character switches on the last console.
Kashyyyk: Imperial Atttack.
After the clone wars ended the imperials came back and took kashyyyk (correct me if im wrong here.) Would feature kashyyyk like jungle, along with platforms high in the air. The goal of the campaign, as played by the wookies, is to stop the imperial attack and find out any information about them as they go. Players would start at the middle of the map, with turrets and plenty of cover, and then be ambushed by imperials. After the attack, the player would go to the imperial shuttle and recover data cards. The player then learns that a distress beacon was sent and that a larger army of imperials is coming to attack them. The player retreats to the main base and holds off the imperials for about 5-10-15 minutes. Probably 7 is the most reasonable. After the attack, they learn that the death star is going to destroy the planet ( I made this up XD ) and that they must vacate the planet. The player returns to the imperial shuttles and the mission ends.
Tatooine: Jabba's revenge.
This would be an indoor map. It would be on Jabba's sail barge. The player would be able to see the pit outside, along with some moving speederbikes. Jabba could be present, but it would have to be crafty. Locals would be Jabba's gamorean guards. It would be very small, so a small limit of players would have to be set. It would also be only one level, with *possible* one way access to the top. Since the map is small, I would not have a campaign here. This would be the most technically challenging map.
Here are my 4 map suggestions. Each vastly different from the next. You could call it anything you want other than 1.5 patch.
I am interested in joining the team. I would personally prefer you took my idea, rather than re-making the conversion pack. I know we all want to be the next mavermitchell, but you have to start smaller first. Mav didnt make the dark times mods in one day, neither can we become famous in a day. Smaller, excellent maps can go a long way. Either way, have fun.
