How many frames = 1 second in XSI animation? Is it 100?

you can set it to whatever you want but for SWBF2 i think its pretty high, it can also vary depending on your video card.

The jedi creation guide states that animations play out at 30 fps in-game, if that's what you're asking.

thats the default for XSI, but i think hes wondering how many frames an animation should use so that it wouldnt play too fast or too slow. well fred told me the x-wing was like 120 or 150 or something like that and you can also look at the JSF and kinda just compare to that.

I'd suggest 30 frames. Everythign above 25 will be smooth for the eye :P It's pretty simple, actually - but I won't go into depth with it  Persistent of Vision is actually the term of why we see animations as we do.

But the eye can't see anything but about 24-25 frames per second.

*Note*
the BRAIN itself can see WAY more than the 24-25 frames, but it won't be visible to your eyes

lol, Vyse - how could you think 1 frame in XSI was 1 Second? :)

Naaa, if you read my first post i'm saying 100 frames = 1 second. :) Your probably right though, it's around 30.

Does it even matter? :P

Understanding theory and practical is way more useable than doing projects :P

All I wanna know if it works like he hopes it will :)

and Vyse, I STILL think that it sounds like 1 frame is 1 second :P and THEN afterwards you ask if it could be 100 frames instead of 1 Frame for 1 second

Which is can :P That's what I love with Animating :D you acn always set how many f/s you want :P

The model itself looks good enough... The skin looks rather cheesy. I don't know if it's the render or what - maybe your specs  (Mine sucks as well, so I know when I don't like something rendered   )

I can see some distortion and seams on the 'legs' more or less everywhere... O.o you'd better go fix it

is it gonna have some kind of high-on-coffee animation(s)? (I'm imagining it jumping up and down all the time :P like it was high on coffee - hehe)

well qdin thats not a render, its just his viewport, he just did a print screen. shouldnt be surprised that its not high res, his screen resolution looks REALLY low, his screen fits easily inside mine. :P i dont know how people live with thier res so low, you cant even see all the tools on the left and right panels, XSI was meant to run at 1280x1024 at the very least.

Well, I run everything on a laptop (Even 1280x1024 doesn't work) but I can just collapse the toolbars I don't use on the sides.

@ Qdin
This is what I was going for. Once I slap the specular flag on it and put it in game it will look even better. ;)

lol - link broke :P

I THINK you forgot to mention the filetype.... and possibly the rest of the filename.. :) (for some reason I kinda doubt you'd call it something with a - in the end before the .FileType*)

What, you've never heard of Real Time Rendering? :P That's the newest graphic cards which can render in Real Time.. O.O especially in the huuuge scenes!

anyways - you get the point anyways  Even in his viewport it should look somewhat decent enough to post here at glorious gametoast :D
