Is it good to have high ping or low ping and what is ping?

Ping is 'how long' it takes for the info from your computer to get to the server and then back again. The larger the ping, the more laggie or jittery your game will be. So smaller ping is better.

I always thought high ping meant higher connection quality..boy was I wrong.
