I've heard a lot of things about battle damage, but i never knew people meant it as muh as this. Anyway, my oppinois of the skin is it looks good. I like damage. The Nasal Abyss wrote:You have yet to realize that if a clone had battle damage, that would insinuate that he has been shot. ive also tried to get movie like battle damage based on this referenceskinHidden/Spoiler:Hidden/Spoiler:
The black and white stuff you are seeing on your reference are scuffs and scratches. Nothing more. Your skins have been bothering me because they have so much stuff on them, and it really distracts me from the other elements in a skin, like recoloring. They are too dirty. There is a fine line (of course, in my opinion, like eveything else in this post) between just enough dirty, and WAY too much dirty. You cross this line in most of your skins so far.
There, it's finally out of my system. I am by no means meaning no offense in this post, so please don't take it as such. I am just providing my outlook on your artwork, even if it does sound a little on the harsh side.

Well, the skin was made to HAVE battle damage. Of course, if every skin had battle damage they would look terrible, but he was experimenting with it. Just because it's dirty doesn't mean you get shot. I run cross country and track & field, and by the end of both seasons, my shoes are dirty, but I didn't get shot (I hope xD). We've had this debate bajillions of times, and it always comes down to this: Dirt's okay in certain cases, just not all the time. The Nasal Abyss wrote:You have yet to realize that if a clone had battle damage, that would insinuate that he has been shot. There is a difference between getting dirty and having battle damage. Getting dirty is collecting dirt and scuffs. Battle damage, on the other hand (as Big Cookie means it) is pretty much canonically impossible. Lasers divert their energy throughout soft bodies, enough energy to kill anyone.ArkAngel wrote:

There hasn't been one of his posts that I have seen that doesn't have a "dirty" version that looks a lot worse than what it should because of over-excesive use of grey and brown colors. Heck, look at the stock skins for example.

Battle damage doesn't JUST mean that's its laser fire, obviously said clone would be dead. You can clearly see there aren't any blaster marks, he's just showing the battle damage (i.e. scrapes, chipping paint on armor, dirt, etc.). If you're taking cover behind a rock for example, you may scuff the armor. If there was no battle, there wouldn't be any scuffs or dirt. Thus it's battle damage lol. Stuff happens. We could argue all day about potential scenarios, but to be frank I don't really want to.

Mate, those arent air holes on his helmet. I just make stuff up cause everything has preety much been done allready, and since you lot didnt really seem to like my new skin, i would like to ask what you look for in a good skin?

Oh, don't worry about what you should do to make your skin likeable; do whatever you want to.SW_elite wrote:Mate, those arent air holes on his helmet. As for their reaction, well, 90% of the skins in this thread are clones, so I guess we have all grown rather uninterested in them (except for those of us who... overreact). Personally, I like the design that you used, it's something new.

sorry SW_Elite, sometimes things get overlooked. I checked it out, and it's certainly creative
. In my opinion, the markings look great, but the helmet without anything in the middle looks kinda boring. Everything else is cool though

It's so-so, I suppose. Why are his shoes orange-striped? And that star-thing, it looks too smeared to be a mark but too regular to be a battle wound (right over the heart, too).
