Okay, I have recently (today in fact) made a model that you can see in battlefront, with the help of SAMofBIA, and acryptozoo, and others. After I got to see it work ingame (and running around with joy a little bit), I decided to make a simple texture for the gun (a pistol).
Okay, here's my question. Do I need to select something different from Planar XY for a model that has cylinders? I made a box pistol, (one box for the handle, and one for the barrel), and assigned a 512 x 512 texture I had, to it, and used texture editor a bit, and got it to look what I want, exported it, and put it ingame. It worked! When I saw that I could use Texture Editor, I tried to texture my real project, a revolver. I did the same thing as I did with the box pistol, but when I viewed it in SWBFViewer, the model was white. I put it ingame, and it was a black void, there was only the outline of the model, and there was no texture. Funny thing is though, when I previewed it in XSI, the texture worked. This made me wonder, when you have cylinders in models, do you have to select something other than Planar XY? Thanks for all your help!!

Re: Texture not working on model
Yes, I did. I will check to make sure everything is in it's right place, though, just to make sure.
Just to make sure, I can select Planar XY, and use it for cylinders right? I am asking, does Planar XY work with cylinders? Or for the cylinders, do I have to use "UV" or the other options there instead?

you can use whatever subprojection you want, it doesnt matter. just make sure to freeze the modleing of all your objects before exporting.

Re: Texture not working on model
I got another question. Is there a mode that allows me to put the texture on so that I look at the side, not the front? Here's what I want to do. I have a revolver, and I was wondering if I could use a picture off of the internet, as the texture? The picture looks at the revolver from the side, so, using it right now, and the way I am texturing, it won't work. I just found out how hard it is to make a model look good, especially a weapon. If I chose a different Planar mode, will it look at the weapon from the side?
Thanks for your help!
Uh, nevermind, I think I got it.
