So jeah, I have to disagree with you, Maul is not boring in my opinion, in fact, he's pretty cool. :maulsaber:

So beyond murder of the galactic peacekeepers, being cool to you is mostly superficial. You probably think Boba Fett is really cool as well. You know who the "rule of cool" is in my book? Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Lando Callisian, Chewbacca, and other such characters.

Han is a selfish smuggler who only cares about himself and making a living for himself, but then he eventually sees how righteous the rebel's ideals are and becomes friends with Luke and Leia. He goes on to becoming one of their generals and leads them to victory time and again. That's cool to me.
Luke is a farm boy whose destiny is revealed to be something greater than he ever imagined, and he doesn't run in fear. He faces his demons and stands victorious. That's cool to me.
Leia is a senator in the public face, but in reality she is a rebel leader risking her life for the ideals of her father that which she has adopted. Even in captivty she stands defiant, never giving in even when faced with the death of everyone on her homeworld, including her father. That's cool to me.
Lando is a scoundrel who at first gave in to Vader to protect the people of his city, but when he saw what he had done to one of his old friends he did the right thing and saved them all eventually. That's cool to me.
Chewbacca is cool because he's a very loyal friend, he's strong and reliable.

What you do is more important than how you look. Maul? He has no story. He's just there as a plot device as something Obi and Qui-gon can fight. Sure you can go into the EU, but even that is boring. He doesn't even look cool to me. Maul is more interesting in the TCW show than he has ever been, especially from what we see in TPM. He's still not that great. I look forward to seeing Sidious end him.

Maul is cool because even if you don't think he looks cool, some people think he does, he single-handedly took on both Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon and held his own in hands-down the most over-the-top lightsaber duel in the entire movie saga, and he was strong enough to defeat Qui-Gon in one-on-one combat.

But that's cool if you want to insult other people's opinions and interject your own. ARC was at least polite enough to add "I disagree, but it's your mod, so do and think what you want."

In fact I think Boba Fett IS cool, if you have a problem with that feel free to post your opinions, I also think the others you mentioned are cool as well, but we should probably keep this focused on Season 5 of the Clone Wars, as the topic title suggests.

I didn't intend to insult Nate's opinion, I apologize if it came out that way. I was just expressing my feelings that the story is what makes someone genuinely cool, not what they look like or what they can do.

I did appreciate Nate's words regarding putting Maul in my mod however, even if I didn't mention it.

Like Nate said however, we should probably stay on topic. I'd be willing to continue this line of discussion in another thread.

Hey man, s'all good, I didn't feel insulted (well, not entirely. )

By the way, I don't condone the slaying of galactic peacekeepers, I just feel that if it must be done, it should be done in the epic-est way possible.

On-topic: I can't wait to see sidious in action. "Your master has arrived!" :vader:

I wouldn't fault Lucas for initially killing off Maul. The story demanded it since he really couldn't fulfill Dooku's role in the following movies, plus it's always best to leave the audience wanting more. Maul's return, on the other hand, was quite a transparent attempt to please fans. But overall it was well-handled despite the contrived premise and it's certainly heading into some interesting territory so I'm willing to look past the blatant pandering. Yes, he's more of a style-over-substance kinda character but Star Wars has never been above that, just look at Boba Fett. Sometimes a slick design and an air of mystery is all you need to make a compelling villain. Sometimes.

I like Maul, his voice in The Clone Wars is really cool. But I like more Savage than Maul. I want to see what will happen with Savage and Sidious.
And about the robes of Ahsoka, maybe Ahsoka can wear it to go unnoticed, but hit the two guys... And if you watch in the trailer, Anakin go to the lower levels of Coruscant. This trailer have a lot of things to think.
Maul and Savage vs Sidious will be epic. I want to know what happens to Savage.

Very excited about it. :D

My dad and I are alright with the new timeslot, since when he comes home from work on Friday, he is usually so tired he drifts off during the episode.

I don't think that's him, though. Just a random lower-ranking Falleen. But if the leader he's taking the other guys to is indeed Xizor, that would be awesome. :D Hope they play his theme if he's featured.

Opinion of the premiere? It was good.

Thoughts: [Spoiler Alert!]
Hidden/Spoiler:
Ah Hondo, our favorite pirate. My dad and I really like his character. We loved his lines, and the VA does a great job.
Sucked to see Adi die. I may not know a lot about her personally, but she is a Jedi and thus it's always a shame to see them die.
I was wondering when Maul and Savage would enter a more master/apprentice relationship. I wish they'd have been more about being brothers, and Savage wanted it that way too. But Maul had to be a dick, as the Sith usually are.
Looking forward to Onderon next week.

Excellent start to the season. This was even better than some of the one hour premieres that they've done (like last year's).

I really do like the way this episode was done. Very exciting and pretty beast fight scenes.

{spoilers!}
Hidden/Spoiler:
When I saw Adi die, I was like that was pretty brutal. I know in the comics general grievous was the one who killed her, but with this show being actual canon, I think this was a better way for her to go out. I thought writers got carried away with the comics anyway, and now we have something that is actually official.

Think I found something of an easter egg from this episode.
Hidden/Spoiler:
I think these are the slug thrower shot guns from republic commando except like the yellow part is red in this episode. The shape cannot be denied though.

Did anyone else feel like pumping their fist when Obi-Wan cut off Savage's arm? I also loved how Talzin's magic seemed to leak out of the brothers when they were injured.

Yeah, my dad and I felt that way as well. The green force magic effect was indeed a nice touch.

The episode was awesome. It exceeded my expectations, which were pretty high.
Hidden/Spoiler:
Why is is that whenever there is a fight scene, the jedi always do better when there is a reason to be angry? Obi-Wan always goes ham whenever someone he loves dies, or when someone brings up something that really could anger him. The same goes for Anakin, and pretty much all the jedi except Qui-gon. Even Yoda was clearly emotional when fighting Sidious. It just seems to me that this whole entire keeping anger in check doesn't really seem to work for most.

It was already previously featured in that one episode from season 3 with Chewbacca and Ashoka on that Trandoshan hunting planet.
