If it already has an alpha channel, just use the erase tool all over the texture, till it's just a checkerboard.

Re: How to eliminate the clone commando's backpack?
this tutorial don't work because i re-open the original skin than i want to create the alpha channel don't appear in cubes and also the gimp when i want to decompose to RGBA say: there isn't alpha channel. Is possible to create alpha channel with the photoshop??Maveritchell wrote:In GIMP 2.4, the option to compose is now in Colors -> Components -> Decompose. Aside from that, everything works the same as before.
Thanks

So just make an alpha channel or use one from another texture. The easiest thing to do would be to open a file that does have an alpha channel, decompose it, and then make its alpha channel completely black (this makes it fully transparent). Then recompose that alpha channel with the RGB channels from your original texture.

Don't make it hard on yourself. It is not easier to change the .msh file. I went ahead and just did the darn thing for you; it took me all of about a minute. Just learn how to do it and it's not difficult.
