Load screen image error [Solved]

Post by authraw »

Well, on to the next set of errors, I suppose. I followed Zerted's loading screen tutorial, and when I munge load, I get the following errors:
ERROR[PC_texturemunge loadscreen.tga]:Targa type 10 not currently supported.
ERROR[PC_texturemunge loadscreen.tga]:Targa type 10 not currently supported.
[continuing]
2 Errors 0 Warnings

ERROR[levelpack common.req]:Expecting bracket, but none was found.
File : munged\pc\loadscreen.texture.req(1)...

I followed the rest of the tutorial, but the screen does not show up ingame. I have a feeling that I'm not using the right kind of .tga file, but I have no idea how to make it into something that the game will accept. The tga I am trying to use is this one.

Any ideas? I used Fireworks to make the file, and then GIMP to save it as a .tga file. I tried it twice, once with RLE Compression turned on, once with it turned off. It didn't work either way.

Use a different program. That's all there is to it. Nice choice for the load screen by-the-way.

Thanks! That screenshot was a gem that I found while exploring around with the freecam. ;)

What program should I use, then? I've got GIMP and Macromedia Fireworks. Fireworks doesn't save as .tga files (unless somebody knows how to do it--I'd love to know) and GIMP, i guess, doesn't save as the right kind of .tga. So... what else should I try? Would somebody else be able to do it for me (using Photoshop, perhaps?)

Thanks a lot! Downloading it now--I'll check to see if it works later, I've got to get to bed. :P

Here's to hopin'! ;)

When saving in GIMP, select save as, then uncheck RLE compression.

I'm pretty sure I tried that, but it didn't work. In any case, I just went back in, unchecked RLE compression AND unchecked "origin at bottom left", munged, and it worked fine. Thanks for your help, guys! ;)
