To edit Conquest CPs you have to switch to the Conquest layer. I'd recommend you read through the stock documentation.Tears2Roses wrote:I forgot you can use those buttons to move objects up. By the way, how would you move the command posts/delte them. I go select region under the region tools but the region wont slect/move/delte...Any Idea's? I want to move the CP's to match my object placement better, and add my local team.
EDIT: what texture should I make the ground? The ones that look fine in ZE are BRIGHT white/orange in-game.

Re: The Junk Town
I did read the stock documentation, a few minutes after I posted. Sorry about that. As far as droids go.... I have finally decided to have them be rusted out and worn. This is the first rusty battledroid:Fiodis wrote:To edit Conquest CPs you have to switch to the Conquest layer. I also have more of a story line behind my map. Here it is:

If you guys have idea's/suggestions on how to make him ( the droid ) look more rusty, I'd gladly go for it. I just searched "rust" on google images, and the 5 main colours I found were: red, orange, grey, brown, and yellow. Orange/red being the most, yellow/brown being the least.

Actually I like that droid skin. It does look somewhat rusted.
If it's a desert world, maybe Geonosis/Tatooine terrain?

I just noticed that the ground is green.... I had it red/orange in ZE. I will have to fix this.Fiodis wrote:Actually I like that droid skin. It does look somewhat rusted.

Re: The Junk Town
When you say you had it red/orange, do you mean you are using ZE's Color tool? I would recommend using terrain textures instead.

Re: The Junk Town
I used the terrain feature in ZE. The ground just glows. When I get home on my own computer I will post a screenshot of what I mean.Fiodis wrote:When you say you had it red/orange, do you mean you are using ZE's Color tool? I would recommend using terrain textures instead.
EDIT: erm.... I don't know how it happened but I lost the map... The good news is I have a copy of my custom sides on my desktop and those are safe, and I also have more screens of rusted droids for all of you! Note that I localized the units. ( again thank you Gametoast FAQ for the localize tutorials
Anyways, the screens:

Re: The Junk Town
When someone says a flat map is bad, what they really mean to say is that a flat and open map is bad. And looking at your screenshots, there are several areas that look both flat and open. You can fix this by adding more objects or adding terrain variation (or both). There's also very little variety in your object placement. Rotate some of the houses and place different props next to them (and avoid placing them in perfect rows; cities on Tatooine never seem to be that orderly). Finally, add some lighting if you haven't already and try to make the houses match the terrain a bit better, and get rid of the bluish-looking fog (this can be done through the sky file. You can change the fog to a sandier color).Tears2Roses wrote: EDIT2: The new map:Hidden/Spoiler:Hidden/Spoiler:Hidden/Spoiler:

The droids look awesome but I would add some random junk props with textures to look like them. It would add to the "200 droids just popped out of nowhere" feeling and would help with camoflage.

Actually, you could set something up(even in a few places) where you are trotting along near a few junk props and OUT OF NOWHERE some rusty droids appear and try to get you.Unlucky13 wrote:"200 droids just popped out of nowhere"
Ambush regions, yes!
I second this!Xavious wrote:When someone says a flat map is bad, what they really mean to say is that a flat and open map is bad. Thanks for all the advice guys!
I will keep all of this advice in mind when making future maps. I like my map the way it is now. I probabl won't release it...and my little brother L O V E S it so I just let him play.
I won't update this thread anymore. Thanks again for all the advice.

This is the town center.
This is the Jawa slave camp. This is where the poor jawas live. There buildings do not have domes or tarps/tents. The building with a dome is there masters quarters.
A second view of the town center.
