It's the million dollar question right now.

Will Gametoast expand to beyond the Starwars Universe and maybe stretch into Crysis or other games? The community is awesome and I'm on the forums at least once an hour but rarely post because theres nothing to post about.

Something needs to revive this "dead" community. What about the cell phone game idea guru?

It's still kickin', last time I checked. Sure, it's slower than it has been, but what's neat about this here is since we've been working with the same game for so long, modders are getting better and better at what they do and as a result we can see some real quality work, which, honestly, I'll take over 3 crap mods/day.

It'd be neat to expand to other games, but we'd have to pick one that was largely relevant to either this community or people close to those in GT. Crysis is big right now, but I don't know that we could do something like that, because Crymod's already pretty established. Honestly, I think it's best for any modding community (Crysis, SWBF, whatever) to have one central modding nexus rather than a number of them spread out. That being said, we'd have to work with a game that is either relatively unmodded - which means either one that's very new or one that has a currently waning or dead community.

I would love to mod something else though, it could be fun. I'd never heard of modding prior to coming here, and now I feel pretty confident I could try to mod any number of things.

This site is not dead. Far from. It's just... Ah forget it, I'll end up saying the same Mav' just said.

I'll just say that although modding a new game would be sweet, I have to say this community is nowhere near dead. There's more than 1 new topic a day.

Even if we don't talk about modding all the time, there's still all the other non-modding sections. And those have tons of discussions that almost everyone participates in.

So basically my point is, we don't have to talk about modding all the time.

When I say "dead" I mean the modding aspect and the games that we play. Those games just seem dead to me right now.

I just think that we need to expand.

I do agree with Silva_Dalek... Also, GT keeps SWBF(II) alive! We keep creating new mods, maps, soldiers etc., and so we keep this game alive, and bring it too a higher lvl! Friends of mine didn't join GT, but download almost all things created here... I think that's what GT is for...

For now I see Game Toast as active, not dead. Plenty of members, and even more people who visit.

Who is saying "dead" anyway .

I'm a member of lots of other game modding forums, and while this is no Unreal Tournament, Halo, or Crysis forum, we're pretty active. I log on at least twice a day and when I do I usually sort through ~ 25-30 topics to check new posts. I'd say that's pretty healthy.

I say we stick to what we've got, If we expand to other games less people will make SWBF2 maps and then the game will die, if not already dead.

I'd say start with posting in the Game Modding Other section. If there's enough activity about a certain game in there, Gametoast could expand.

That's the truth. Before anyone makes a new forum, there's going to have to be enough interest shown already for it to exist. We've talked it over before, and nothing currently in the other games forums shows enough interest in a "new" game to work on.

No, we have the 'Other Games' section, if you want to post mods/maps/videos/talk/etc about other games that aren't already covered with a forum, then post there, If we see a game that's popular here in the 'Other Games' section, then we'll create a special forum for it.

No, I disagree! The only thing it would this would do is put more pressure on Guru and his expenses, when all we do is sit back and do nothing. I like to think of others first.

You're probably right Shadowman, but for some reason, i think GT is THE place for SWBFII... If you add another game, that would be fine offcourse, but it will become big... I mean, what do you want, a nice small warm house, or a big empty factory? That's how i see it... And, SWBF3 is coming, so that's a game! Also, when we are adding games, i think they should be star wars related to! A big empty factory which is starwars themed is fine with me ^^

Again I agree. This is a place for Star Wars. Just look at the smilies. And SWBF3 will be that big game to add.
