Obviously, i'm new to modding, and am still figuring out the basics, however i'm lead to understand that I should be able to play on my maps even after the first munge. Though for some reason that isn't the case for me. If I try to play on my imcomplete custom map, (which when I select it the text and description is orange and messed up.) the game crashes and says "FATAL: Could not open mission lvl."
After looking into this, the folder of my custom map DOES go to the addon folder as it's supposed to, however, there is no lvl file in it (which i'm guessing is the issue.)
I downloaded the "vistamungefix" (even though I use Windows 7 which may explain why this download didn't work) but I didn't understand what I was to do with it. As in, is there something in that folder I use or do I just dump the files into the "BF2 Mod tools folder" none of those seem to work.
If someone could please help it'd be very appreciated.

It may be called vistamungefix, but it can be used for any OS released after XP.NovaSpartanX wrote:I downloaded the "vistamungefix" (even though I use Windows 7 which may explain why this download didn't work) but I didn't understand what I was to do with it. To use the mungefix just follow these steps as posted already:
- Extract the vistamungefix folder into your C:\BF2_ModTools directory.
Run the vistamungefix.bat located inside the vistamungefix folder.
The path to vistamungefix.bat should look like this:
- C:\BF2_ModTools\vistamungefix\vistamungefix.bat

Re: Need help. "FATAL: Could not open mission lvl."
That's the thing though, there is no "vistamungefix.bat" There is a batch file called "vistamungefix" which I assume is the .bat file, but the thing is, when I try to run it, it come up for less than a second and then closes. Is that supposed to happen or something?
Edit: Ok apparently that did work, thank you so much. How do I go into pre-existing projects to get them working?

Compare the fixed munge bats with the ones in the prexisting mod folder. Right click and open them in notepad.

Alright, thanks. I think I got all of them. Though, for some reason, everything is VERY bright like the sun. What is causing this?kinetosimpetus wrote:Compare the fixed munge bats with the ones in the prexisting mod folder. Right click and open them in notepad.
Also, how do you change the Skybox correctly? I followed the directions word for word, I open the sky file and get the texture files mentioned in it and put it in the world folder as it says but nothing changes...
