soundflmunge.exe : Error : Unable to open file C:\BF2_ModTools\data_X31\Sound\shell\effects\whooshl3.wav, format may be invalid - while munging C:\BF2_ModTools\data_X31\Sound\shell\shell.sfx
soundflmunge.exe : Error : Unable to read file list C:\BF2_ModTools\data_X31\Sound\shell\shell.sfx - while munging C:\BF2_ModTools\data_X31\Sound\shell\shell.sfx[/code]

I'm fairly sure those errors have nothing to do with custom sounds. They show up in the log for me too. They don't appear to have anything to do with your custom .lvl

Every time I hear someone say this, they think they've followed step-by-step but have inevitably missed a step or did something wrong.

It's not easy to tell you what you did wrong, because none of the mungelogs/error logs can tell us a whole lot about your sound munge. The best advice I have is to go over (again and again and maybe again) the steps in Rends' tutorial. It's not easy at first, but after you do it the first twenty times or so it gets to be pretty second nature and you'll catch errors quickly enough.
