WIP: Battle of the Bridge

This is a pretty simple map that consists of a long bridge between a large mass of water with ships. It has 4 ships to each side and is conquest, both capture the flags and assault, and maybe an XL and/or hunt if I learn how to do it. For conquest there is a comand post on each side with two on the bridge. It has two elevators that go from the upper portion of the bridge to the lower portion.
The riflemen are brown colored with Pilots and Kashyyyk Snipers.

Im not sure which planet is it yet because I used some Yavin textures, with Geonosisish colors, and Hoth's sky.

I would like to give credit to my brother who thought of the basic idea of this map which is "just a map with a really long bridge".

Iv never seen the death star interior triangle supporters in a map b4..........iteresting......well it looks great.It reminds me of a map from another game

can i suggest (you may be working on this) that you widen the bridge, so more units can be on it. otherwise, cool map, ill be looking for it in the released section.

He is right now as the default. I'm not sure whether or not I will change it.

Huh.

It's really cool! I dunno why, but the simplicity of it suprised me by how much fun it looks.

The only thing I'd suggest is adding more units on the field at a time and downsizing the map a bit.

Anyways, looks great and keep it up!

Also, the terrain looks a little spartan, you may want to mix it up a little.

yes! this map is a simplified version of bespin: platforms. A simple, yet effective map design, complete with spacecships to gun each other down, and to make strafing runs at the bridge. this map almost reminds me of the map Infinity from Halo PC.

The geonosis tunnel looks like a mouth with giant teeth.

Maybe you could have some slight hills and lowered areas, and some high mountain indicating the map's boundaries.

Yeah, Im not sure why the rocks on the geonosis tunnel have no texture. I copied all of the files in the geonosis msh folder into my maps msh.

it would be good to have all heros on all sides be either jedi or mandalorian, so they can jump or jetback, nothin
is more annoying then being han or leia and just, falling...

i think you should add luke for alliance and the emperor for empire, you should also make an XL mode for the map with lots of reinforcements too.

Advices: isn't fighters maybe a little overkill(just gunning down people on the bridge)?
maybe you could try to add a roof and some walls to the actuall bridge(starts thinking of the effiency of a grenade in XL mode :twisted: ), wich makes it harder to evade grenades and whatnot, this way ships don't get "cheappoints"("dont get to use the ship to get lots'o points by shooting on the bridge).
maybe isntead of water, you could just make it so that you fall all the way to your death(make it a loooong cliff).

Zaborack is right. Some plates of armor on both sides, behind which you can take cover when fighters make a run, and some holes to hide in in case of a bomber attack.

And some anti-aircraft-turrets with lock-on missiles on the bridge cp platform.

I like the idea of having Luke and The Emperor. It gonna be pilot Luke. CW now has Cloaked Anakin and Grievous.
The bridge stays as is. No roof or walls because then it be more of a hallway instead of a bridge. I want it to have that open air-fly off-die in the water kinda feel. I would however like to put in some small take cover areas along the bridge but I can't think of any good objects from the maps to use. Help? From which map are the plates of armor you mentioned Protector_Pulsh?

Sorry, I would love to put some turrets in the map but my graphics card doesn't support turrets in Zeroeditor. It makes it go crazy. Same with health and ammo droids and I think any other pre-animated object. Yeah, it sucks don't it?

The map is half as wide now; (it took forever to walk to the locals cave before) and I've added lots of geonosis spires to show the boundarys of the map and give a better horizon. It also has more rolling hills.

To answer Darth Maul's question, the bridge is just a lot of dea1_bldg_central_bridge02's end to end with 4 dea1_bldg_central_platfoms in between. Sure took awhile to do that.



I think I'll do a beta or alpha or whatever it's called release next week. Sorry, I dont know the release terminology and numbering system yet.

i dont like the idea of grievious bein the hero... just because he cant really jump high, it would make the battle exciting if the heros would jump over the bridges and stuff like that... i think im only making sense to myself... just tryin to help
