I think its a neat idea, Skyhammer. It showcases the planet better than a single screenshot of one battlefield.

Yeah, that's definitely a great idea. I kind of want to steal it now.Null_1138 wrote:I think its a neat idea, Skyhammer. It showcases the planet better than a single screenshot of one battlefield.

Re: Graphic Art- Everything Else
I've finally finished remaking the map for my book Ironfist.
For the sake of nostalgia, I uploaded a few of my earlier attempts so you can compare.
This is the latest one.

Go ahead, I pretty much stole it from BF1 anyway.

Very cool. Definitely reminds me of the original game's loading screens.Skyhammer_216 wrote:Random Planet shot of Veriss. Starfield got off net, rest is original.
Might use this kind of thing as DS loadscreens since can get way more complex planet texturing done. Opinions?Hidden/Spoiler:

Re: Graphic Art- Everything Else
Since people seem to like the planet as loadscreen idea i think I'll have a go at doing some more....better ones obviously.
EDIT: New Veriss version.
Old for comparison:
Incidentally, anyone got a link to some good free starfield/nebula textures?

I had a feeling it was inspired by BF1. Ugh, I hate the loading sequence for maps in that game...that beeping was horrible after the first few matches. Minus the sounds it's cool though.

Yeah I could live without the beeping.
Sky, that looks much better.

Starfields are very easy to make; I would suggest looking for whatever tutorial is relevant to your software of choice. Barring that, just ask and I'll make a couple.Skyhammer_216 wrote:Incidentally, anyone got a link to some good free starfield/nebula textures?

Are you kidding? The beeping is what made the load-screens for me. I looked forward to load-screens thanks to the official-ness of the beeping and the animation. Ah, I was young.Eggman wrote:I had a feeling it was inspired by BF1. Ugh, I hate the loading sequence for maps in that game...that beeping was horrible after the first few matches. As for Sky's actual load-screen, that looks AWESOME, although if I recall correctly, Veriss had some lava in the map? Perhaps a few orange rivers penetrating the monotony?

@Grev:
Ah crud, I totally forgot about the lava....
@Mav: yeah, I should make some. Got some random trial version rendering programs too that might help. Thanks.
Tried another one (well I've got crathe and fai'kaal done, but only the planets)
Anyway, Ark Mion:
Backdrop was Stock from dA.

After experimenting with fractals, here's my favorite, best, most complex, etc, etc, etc...
Will post more once I figure out how to convert to .jpg format after saving...
As usual, comments and suggestions are appreciated, and yes, I'm aware of the little black rim around the Earth
