Wow. Looks like my map's been blown out of the water, and I'm not even near being finished. I'm not working on Endor, but I've had some similar space battle ideas for my own work. It's odd how we both seem to have been influenced by the same things with our capital ship placement.
I'm definately looking forward to your map's release.

Seriously. Rogue Leader = Pure Pwnage. If you need any help with that, I'd definitely be willing to help. I'm a Rogue Leader fanatic. I once spent like, hours just playing the Battle of Endor and Death Star II maps. Those we my favorite ones.

Oh my jezus I love you xwingguy. Bear with me, as I have more suggestions that you may (and probably) have already thought of:
Some more controllable systems on the cap ship, accessed through consoles on the bridge (auto - turrets, force - fields, or maybe even a self - destruct and a helm?).
Windows. Windows on the corridors of the cap ships would be freakin' sweet (though obviously on the side of the cap ship that's facing the battle). May not work because the cap ships are so huge, and taking the corridors to the edge would require a long detour unless you're already near it.
Some Death Star objects and things in the Star Destroyer (that superlaser room and generator might just make a good ractor area for it). The detention area would be fun to see in there, too.
Also, contrary to what most other people are saying, I think the ship - to ship guns need some major beefing up. I mean, aside from taking down fighters, they don't do squat. It would be rediculous to have turrets that can actually damage other cap ships (especially if you change their firing mechanics to those badass screens shown earlier from the corvette). We could get some real slugging matches goin on between cap ships (something that is really missing from the standard space maps). Sorry about the long post, but I just thought I'd put my two cents worth of suggestions in case you want or need them

I've thinking about that and I believe that if I can treat the heavy guns in a particular way, I can make it so you can control what they are shooting at. There a funny (yet unrealistic) thing about that. From the any point inside the inside of a capital ship, you can see right out. ...why didn't I think of using the superlaser as a reactor room? (slaps himself) I've been toying with those huge pits and I've found that they only fit in the center of the ISD, but they can be used.
