Since I'm always curious to know what other people are up to and the thread description says we can post models(without a complex reason I would assume), thought I'd start a thread where people can post some of their work here (if only for the sake of showing it off).

I'll start.
This is a Death glider from Stargate (I'm a fanas you will see in due time). the only thing I currently have in game and working almost perfectly though the textures aren't on straight.

Here's a Nova Wing. I don't really know anything aou thie vehicle at all and only had one reference picture but it was requested for an EAW mod team I work with on and off, and a considering making it seaworthy in SWBF2.

And last for now, a ship yard (Kuat I think) for the same modding team. also with one pic, a lot was left to the imagination.

Hey, that's pretty neat - I was thinking of making an assault gunboat model just the other day! A fan of the Tie Fighter series, I presume?

Yeah, I always played as that ship. Fast, manouverable, well-sheilded, and with an insane payload.

EDIT: Finished the model, now I have to rig and animate it, as well as (shudder) texture it.

you should ditch the windowframe on the cockpit, too many polies for something you can just texture on, also the model could use some hard edges in quite a few areas, the smoothing almost looks like a soft clay model when it should be ridgid like it was actually made outta metal. kinda an irrelivant thread though when you can all just make seperate WIP threads.

Yeah, I should probably do that, I was just trying to see if I actually would be able to get the cockpit to look like that.

Mini: That would be equally useless. The point is so that the board isn't loaded up with WIP threads. Also, this topic is just as much fo finished models.

Although I've only seen one episode of the old series, your ship looks like something out of Battlestar galactica, t33l.

Lol, it's t551, and no, it's the Cygnus Spaceworks Alpha Class XG-1 Starwing (or Imperial Assault Gunboat) from the Tie fighter games.

All those models look great. Especially the gunboat and the Kuat Drive Yard stuff.

Hm... Mini's got a point... :?

But let's dedicate this topic to off-topic such as for-fun models or school projects :P Not models which is going in a mod :wink: THEN it's mroe useful :)

man i forgot all about the KSE Firespray, i have the model, i think it was teancum or psych0fred that gave it to me wanting me to finish it, since the textures are done ill have a look at her and see what i can do to get it working.

Kyross, you're Nova Wing thing looks like or probaby IS a Cygnus Missle Boat, a relative of the gunboat.

Also, if you're asfan you're missing a very critical mOdel. You can do a lot of things with scripting . . .

Ace: I just did some research, you're right. it's the XM-1 missile boat from X-wing alliance and TIE-fighter. Now that I know more about it getting it in-game is much more a possibility.
Aside from the glider my only sg models thus far are opened and closed versions of the staff weapon.

Rends, stop teasing us! Why haven't you done something with it yet? D;

Epena: I hope you had permission to post that. Especially with what it is and what Qdin recently said about uage of this topic.

Well, it's actually Qdin's School project. Though it is for a map (mine) he did it for school. And since he doesn't have any picture not taken by me other than those in XSI, and I wanted to pump a little interest in my project (Schizo's working on it too, we're both on equal standing in relation to it) I figured it 'd be okay to post it. I didn't claim it as my own , I bolded and underlined that Qdin made the model, and that Squipple made the obliesks and rocks. Though, you do have a point. They made it, not me. And this i s a showcase thread, not a WIP thread. I think i'll remove the image and leave it up to Qdin to repost it if he so desires.

Sort of off-topic, but Rends, I say that you had a schematic in the background of one of your orthographic windows. How do you do that?
