Geonosis: Landing at Point Rain


Yup, it's finally here.

Long anticipated, over two years (school years :P) of development, of win and fail in the process of creating, and appearantly fail in polishing some things, I finnally uploaded the V1.0 of Geonosis: LPR.

Not much to say, it's uploaded on swbffiles, Mav did a review which was kind of disappointing for me, but also helpful in terms of what I can improve to the next version.

1) Introduction

After almost 2 years of waiting and improving and crashing, long anticipated Geonosis is
finally out. One thing I would like to say is that the map isn't a direct copy of what
you can see in the The Clone Wars episode "Landing at Point Rain", more a interpretation
of what I saw and liked. It features manymany custom models, and since most of them were
made by me, they are not perfect.

2) Installation

After you downloaded this file, simply double click it and install.

To uninstall Geonosis:Landing at Point Rain just delete the folder LPR from
c:\Program Files\Lucasarts\Gamedata\addon



3) Story

My map plays right after Waxer and Boil rescued Obi Wan out of the crashed Gunship and
medically treated him in the defense area they set up. Now the CIS and the geonosians are
attacking and Obi Wan has to fight even though he is already injured. Can the Republic
defend or even push the CIS back and destroy the shield generator so that the Strike Force
can destroy the Droid Factory?


4) Little tips

First off, I made the weapons stronger, so rushing into the battle Rambo-style will get
you killed in seconds. I would advice seeking cover and then take out the biggest enemies
in sight. As Cis the closer you get to the Circle, the more likely it is to be shot. The AT-TEs
are manable turrets, and they will shoot you, so be careful or move fast (Droideka) or take them
out from behind your shield.

You've forgot Commander Jet and it will be nice if you add a venator or a Acclamator (Of course in clone wars style) and i think some normal troopers (from Rex) won't be bad (THEWULFMEN is working on some troopers in TCW skin)

It was definitely a map I wanted to see turn out well. I think you made some very right steps but left a few basic flaws in there that brought it down in the end. If it makes you feel better, I can pretty much guarantee that most people could care less about the body of a review beyond the first few sentences and the pictures. All that stuff in there is really only for you and the people invested in the map so that they can see how to make stuff better in the future.

I think so too, plus I believe things like missing localisations or a few floating icons don't really affect gameplay and stuff, and won't really bring the fun down.
Anyway, as always I'm thankfull for every tip I get on how or what to improve my stuff, I just didn't thought there's that much unfixed.

Yeah, this was not repetitive enough, I cant remember how many times he said this. So, here I go...

This map is not based off the Ki-Adi Mundi and Anakin/Ahsoka parts of the episode. Actually, the only reason Rex is there is becuse he is cool. If he decides to make more maps like an
underground tunnel map with jet and Mundi, and/or a map going against the giant wall, he can always do that. But this is NOT this map.

Oh, and there was a Venater, but he removed it because it didnt really add anything to the map.

Map wise, there may be a couple floating object, a tunnel that leads to nowhere :wink: and a couple small probs, its one of the best maps ever, definatley my Favorite Geonosian map.
