Low-rez or sky dome issue?

Post by JazzMaster »

I've been enjoying EvilleJedi's Venator in space maps.. but when i try it in a ground level, all but the front left object (it is made up of four objects: front left, front right, back left, back right) won't show up from any distance other than being literally right on top of the object.

Is this due to it not having any low resolution msh files or some type of sky dome conflict?

The left-front object has a lowres and collision mesh but the right-front object doesn't. You could probably just remove them from the left object since the right side works fine. The left and right turret hierarchies are different too. The turret node and firepoints look like they're in the wrong position and the turret geometry has double faces. It looks like this conversion was done in a hurry, but should be easy enough to fix though.

Why remove them from the front left object? isn't the lowres and collision mesh what makes it visible from farther distances? what would deleting those achieve?

I misread your original post. I thought you were saying all but the left-front object appeared correctly. The fix is to at least add a lowrez mesh to three parts that don't have one. All of the parts, even the left-front need some attention anyway, as I posted previously.
