1) Where did you get the mod tools from? Nobody has ever reported a virus
2) What anit-virus software are you using?

I searched MY system for the file you specified and couldn't find it, so I'd be shocked if removing it damaged your files in any way.

I have symantec Anti-Virus, it was provided by my school. And when I was installing the mod tools the virus was detected then when i was installing it said could not find 'swbfe5b2.rra', ignore, abort, cancel.

I'm using the tools now, I just hope it was useful cheesecake.

I wonder why, I downloaded it from Filefront?

I believe .rra files are installed when something goes wrong while installing. One time my modtools installed incorrectly, and in the assets folders instead of mshs and odfs and whatnot I just had a bunch of .rras. I deleted the modtools and reinstalled and it worked that time.

I actually had that same problem. My school uses the same anti-virus, and it claimed there was a virus of some sort in the mod tools during installation. I don't think the file name of the "virus" was the same, though. Either way, I knew it wasn't actually a virus since I had downloaded them from SWBFFiles and have plenty of experience using the mod tools. I just uninstalled the anti-virus and reinstalled it once I installed the mod tools.

Doesn't work with the anti-virus I have. The disable option only turns off one feature, which incidentally wasn't the one that was catching the "virus."

Its OK, Symantec flagged my swbf2sm.exe as a heuristic virus as well...it might just have a vendetta against our hobbies!

Offtopic: Symantec Sux ( no offense to anyone who likes it) because it doesn't warn you about suspicious executives. Like some random file named TROJANFAKE.av was run by internet explorer and gave me a fake simulation of a virus and I had to scan for 3 hours in safe mode. Then I got firefox and I havent had the problem since.

:funny2: @ D.U.C.K.

Firefox is much better than Internet Explorer IMO, and that's coming from an only recenter switcher, and previous IE booster. I'd recommend AVG if you don't want to pay, or if you are willing, Webroot Anti-Virus has worked very well for me over the years (only within the past 6 months have I had virus trouble, and that was coming from my Flash Disk)

These of course are just my opinions, but they work well enough for me

Not tring to change the topic but the best free scanner and remover would be ~

Malwarebytes Anti Malware

Works best when you have a malware trojan that won't let you execute any programs : ) Anyway, we can lock now lol
