I'm gonna have to agree with crazytieguy. Although I don't play the game anymore, try browsing the internet for a java game with graphics "as good" as Runescape.

Where did you get it, and how much? :P

Now you see, I love that series (playing through Mother 3 on a friend's "emu"), but I just don't like Runescape. I think it's the MMO portion of it, or as I once put it "MM No." ;)
*ceomuuglhactoourgh*

See, that's an OK excuse. It just gets me when people say that they don't like it because of the graphics.

Earthbound I can understand getting mad over, because it's a work of art.

...Runescape counter-comment not made because I understand a few of you like it. :P

There's not a more specific date than "within a couple of months" is there?
Just thought I'd ask.

There is. Here: http://news.runescape.com/newsitem.ws?id=1247 Somewhere on the bottom of that page it says: "These two weeks are hugely important to us, as they allow us to prepare for the major graphical improvement in early July."

Ok... I gotta admit, the update looks nice, I was only able to see areas previewed, cause I'm not willing to shell out 6 bucks a month.

But surprisingly, with anti-aliasing at 4x, Runescape looks like it never has before.

hehe I still play it every so often. If you do too then add Im4eversmart

Yes I have played way too much in the last few years, I started back in '03 when the graphics were some of the best out there for a Java based mmorpg

You can catch me on RuneHQ too, I am still an admin there

Woah! I think I've seen you before |EDIT: Oh, ok, I used to spend waaaay too much time at Tip.it and RuneHQ|... I won't say my name, since I made it when I was what... 13, and it's my full name, minus the last letter of my last name :P (I wasn't very ASL-Smart back then).

Oh, also. I don't think that the new graphics will get me back into it... Sure, they look kinda better, but I played it from Classic for... I stopped in 2006, so however long that was from Classic. I just think that it's been taken over by Bots and "P(_)|23 0\/\//\/4g3" idiots. Plus, I was uberly... upset, when I went back to take a look and realized that the so-called Java Game Experts (<-- Psh... sorry...) had taken out the Wilderness, basically. The Wilderness was the most upbeat place in the entire game, I must have made/lost at least 40 million in there alone...

Not going to claim I've made any, but my name isn't BattlefrontIIEx for a reason. That comment wasn't as much about the Java-ness, (because I personally think the graphics are... relatively, good for a game that requires no download) but about the fact that they keep seeming to take the danger out of the game; take Pest Control, for example. When we "high levels" ask for an update to target specifically those higher than, say... level 95, (not really that high anyway), it usually comes in the form of "Hey, why don't you go kill This! new monster for a cape that only adds about 1 damage to your hits! Oh, by the way, have fun wasting millions of Gold Pieces on a 3 hour-long fight that you'll probably lose anyway!" It just was beginning to seem like they were being deliberately unhelpful, either not giving us what we've been asking for for a long time, or "giving" it to us, but in a completely unsatisfactory way. Feel free to play the game, it's still alright, but I am probably not going to be picking it up again.

Ugh... All that's updated is a few textures. Thet's not worth it, if you ask me. Maybe if they added houses and hunting to non-members, I would play, but just a graphics change is so not worth it. Now if AQ went 3D would be different...

That would indeed be incredible :P. I still play that game on occasion, just for old times' sake.

*goes off and fires up the old machine... "W00t! I just hit a 23000 on the Zard Master!"
