Re: The Official VGA Thread, TFU2, Reach, and more!
Reach does look very story driven and I'm excited about that, but one part of the trailer annoyed me, because I wanted a long trailer with a bit more, was the flash in the background causing a white fade out. Mainly because I found it cliche. But I can live with it.
@Ping: Green Day has alot of great hits. Mainly in the late? 90s and early 2000s. They're a pretty good band.

I did say I'm really bad with bands, though. I actually thought they formed in the 2000s.Moving_Target wrote: @Ping: Green Day has alot of great hits. Mainly in the late? 90s and early 2000s. They're a pretty good band.

They formed in 1987. Yeah, if you want to expand your band knowledge, look into them. American Idiot is their more political music. They're punk, rock, alternative rock. I think Good Riddance (Time of your Life) is their best song and hope to see it in the game.

**Enters the room, where everybody is chatting fervently about the VGA, BFIII and TFU2**
Oh, hi guys! Did I miss anything?
Well, The Force Unleashed 2, let's stop to think about that for a second, hmm... so they are making sequels... for a game... where the protagonist has died in the very end... but now he's alive! That... makes perfect sense to me! Boy, they surely did know what they were doing back when they killed Galen Marek, huh?
Seriously though, I still hope they don't try to push the limits of the force any further, I'm under the impression that they will try to revamp the gameplay somehow, with even more exaggerated demonstrations of power.

How come no one but me has considered that StarKiller is a zombie?

I hope it's a clone. That idea has never been done before in the Star Wars universe.

Hey, look on the bright side, at least they are not taking the comic-book approach to character revival(yet)! It's not like this Galen Marek came from the alternate dimension number 287 or anything.Fusion wrote:I hope it's a clone. That idea has never been done before in the Star Wars universe.
Only if he fights the zombie Stormtroopers from Death Troopers.Thire wrote:How come no one but me has considered that StarKiller is a zombie?

One question though: "What remains of the new IP: Starwars Legends?"

For all intents and purposes, he was a zombie all throughout the second part of TFU.Thire wrote:How come no one but me has considered that StarKiller is a zombie?
The novel made it quite plain that he had actually died out there in space.

Plain and simple.

That had also happened halfway through the story, when Vader stabbed him and brought him back to life. That could have happened again, only slightly differently.ggctuk wrote:The novel made it quite plain that he had actually died out there in space.

That's what I meant - he was stabbed by vader but survived that, then he was cast out into space and he died there.
How he survived after the Death Star Duel when both Vader and the Emperor checked him via the Force (although in the Novel he had an out-of-body experience), I can only hope that will be explained.

Okay... So while I was away TFU2 was announced and they're bringing starkiller back. I'm guessing they cloned him so they could extract a queen alien embryo in his chest and use it to breed xenomorphs for the Empire's new bio-weapons research program.

Who's to say that TFU2 takes place AFTER the events of TFU to begin with? For all we know, this could be a prequel or something.

Re: The Official VGA Thread, TFU2, Reach, and more!
Because the trailer hinted at it with Juno's voice "Am I going to see you again?".
And he has Blue Lightsabers (he only had them when he converted to the Light Side)
Although it will be taking place before Episode IV.

@Thire - I'm a huge halo fan also, but don't particularly like what has been done recently to the franchise.Teancum wrote:QFT -- sounds like you're just trying to find something wrong with it. As far as the vehicles go, the humans were on multiple planets -- maybe this was a vehicle local to Reach, and perhaps the events of reach deemed these vehicles no longer efficient (and so they weren't used after that). Or maybe they were manufactured on Reach and when it got glassed there were only a handful left on other planets.Thire wrote:It's their canon to do what they want with it, and as an avid Halo fan, I thought it looked great.SilvaDalek wrote:
But wow. I saw the Reach trailer and thought, fail much Bungie? I think it was two things. Ruining Halo canon even more, and the cheap characters. First off, they added a new aircraft. This is before Halo: CE, so just use Pelicans. Or even use Vultures or Hornets, since they were in Halo Wars, which was before Halo: CE.
And then the characters. My problems with the characters, in order of appearance:
ODST "Lieutenant" - Rookie + Master Chief (looks like we get to play as the same type of character again)
Sniper - Romeo + Master Chief (he smells like our stereotypical sniper from the Halo series)
Skully - Ghost (MW2) + Master Chief (I lol'd at this one)
Girl w/ Accent - Captain Keys + Dare + Master Chief (please don't make another fail love story)
Commander - Forge + Master Chief (I thought it was Forge first time watching)
"George" - Cyclops + Master Chief (by this point I was too angry to care what he was)
As far as the Spartans go, it's clearly evident that you're picking at straws. How in the world can you make a comparison of the female Spartan to Keyes/Dare/Chief when she literally said one line? Or comparing the sniper to Romeo? Again, he said two lines. Yeah, you're just hatin' for the sake of hatin'.
@Tean - I agree I was picking straws, but I wasn't just hating. I left out the good feelings I had about the cutscene.
The graphics look amazing, I think that Bungie will do a good job with the story, I just feel like Bungie is recycling characters and messing with canon. I guess I just didn't say it the right way

That's so Starkiller. Just...well, not as angry. Or scarred. And with a second lightsaber. Thank you, LucasArts, for at least giving him a second lightsaber. Even if you're shunning your fans at least you're making what you give them slightly enjoyable.DarthRogueKnight wrote:That's not StarKiller.*Looks at picture*

I just watched the ending on youtube and I do have to say it's going to be interesting how they explain Starkiller is still alive. It's still possible to have a logical explanation, but his survival depends on vader.

Actually, you saying that sorta gave me an idea. Considering how Palps said that "he is now more powerful than ever," Vader may have brought him back to life again, thinking it would weaken him.Moving_Target wrote:I just watched the ending on youtube and I do have to say it's going to be interesting how they explain Starkiller is still alive.
