Hi. Just to let you all know that over 30 people have reported they can't make a server now on SWBF2. Can people clarify why?

We need a lot more info than that. That's like saying "the TV's broken, do you know what's wrong with it?". Are they hosting in-game, or a dedicated server? What are their PC specs? Who are these 30 people and where can I find them? Are they running version 1.0 or 1.1 of the game? Are they running XP, Vista or Windows 7? Are they using the CD, DVD or Steam version of the game? What mods do they have installed? What type of internet connection do they have? How fast is that connection?

Look, I have seen them on xfire, all of them say the same thing, after 5 seconds it says Connection to Host lost. Their connections are perfectly good plus I have asked more random people and they said it too. It is happening to me too. I think I know why though but no-one will believe me here...

They are running the normal version of the game, version 1.1. For some strange reason I think it might be Zerted's v1.3 that's causing it, but I dunno. I know who it really is though..
Some of them are running, some XP, and some Windows 7. They were all non dedicated.
My friend said for me to post this: I tried to make a RPG, but it failed, came up with host registration failure. I did it on jabbas palace, BFX, and i also used v1.3. It was not dedicated.. If you quit it quits..and no one could join.

Also when I make a dedicated server it does not appear in the list (although it used to)

You are not making a lot of sense. If you "know who [what?] it is," then what are you asking?

I am not entirely sure if it is them...But I have told you guys at Gametoast before and you didn't believe me so why should I tell again....

Grammatically speaking, you're not making ANY sence. Just tell what you think is the cause, otherwise, stop being so vague and don't mention it at all. It's very annoying to try and understand this.

This is no fault of Zerted's, Gamespy has been running server updates over the past few days, so there is nothing we can do about it.

Yeah, this isn't a 1.3 issue. If it was it would have been found a loooooooooong time ago. DarthRogueKnight -- it's probably just GameSpy updates.

And why would they? They still have battlefront 1 servers up and running, not to mention that they have no reason to, considering we still have a decently sized online community.

This happens every once in awhile. The reason I've always heard is Gamespy updating/crashing. Of course, if Gamespy crashed, we would know as Gamespy ID's wouldn't be working. I'd assuming (as everyone else has said) that they're just running updates/maintenance. I also know that Dedicated servers are working just fine (unless they've shut down in the hour since I got off).

I can make one again now.
The thing is why was the other people able to make servers when I wasn't and lots others?

When you're pushing updates to any sort of web-based service things go up and down, up and down. You just got the short end of the stick is all. It could have been that GameSpy servers in other regions either had already received the updates, or were yet to while they were updating the servers in your region.

In any case, it's nothing at all to be even remotely concerned about.
