"Battle of Praesitlyn" -WIP ...

Here we are, the Battle of Praesitlyn. Right now, this map is in it's beta stage. I mean, all the terrain height and object placement is done, though still in the "rough draft" stage. I haven't gotten around to most of the planning yet, or barriers, which are really needed in this map. Other things on my
"To Do" list are:
  • Make all objects not floaty
  • Raise the reinforcement count to a fairly hhigher number
  • Switch the Arc170fighter to the Jedi Starfighter
  • Maybe switch Anakin Skywalker to Nejaa Halcyon
  • Raise the amount of units on the field
  • Maybe reddenthe terrain, or use a different texture
  • Change the Concussion Turret to a Particle Turret
  • Some other stuff I might have forgotten with my bad memory

*Note: In the tird screenie it shows the ships above the canyon. I don't know if you will be able to do that in the later stages of the game.

wow - an awesome idea :P

but I just personally think we need.... more than a canyon and flyers + turrets :P

now, if you could make something cool in the background, or mini-turrets shooting down everything or something. Maybe say the Republic and the CIS was gonna invade a key-station for this part of the sector? :P but it's heavily defended by the locals as well? :)

jsut to get some action and story in as well? :wink:

looks cool, i had been thinking about doing a praesitlyn map.....

you should keep anakin as the hero. halcyon wasnt actually in the battle.

If there is going to be ground and air fighting you need anti aircraft turrets :D :D

And it was a very important battle for him: After having retaken the comm-station almost single-handed he was promoted to a jedi knight.

The first screen is just pure ownage. How the heck did you get it ?
The second screen could need some obstacles providing cover in the hallway.

Everything has a little yellow touch - this doesn't fit the map. If you want to accomodate objects to a map, change the color of colored area, and not the overall color.

Somehow this reminds me of the canyon mission in RC (which is a good thing after all).

Maybe you could have a tunnel in the midst of the map, connecting the two parts of the canyon, but guarded by locals. The brown wampas someone made a time ago would be fantastic.

Okay, added lot's of planning, and, the map is way better. I took your advice protector pulch, and changed the interior light to grey with a touch of green. There are now many autoturrets in the republic base. this map is moving along quite fast. BTW, does anyone know if the "Land" hintnode works?
