Also a little update:
Release has been set forward to 2008 because of some problems.
Would not be surprised if it will come out for PC, apparently Lucasarts happened to be known for that kind of stuff (I heard).
Pretty funny, there's even a petition to let the game also on PC.

Ha, and then you will found out that it will be released for PC.It is great! I'm buying the PS3 for this game. not the other way around. I already have an HDTV but not the PS3. Go Force Unleashed!!!!

We can unleash the force
Yeah the kick-butt game The Force Unleashed has finally been announced for Wii!!!

“The Wii is a great platform for The Force Unleashed, because the console’s motion-oriented controllers really bring the game to life,” said Jim Ward, President of LucasArts. “We’ve worked hard to make the Wii version of the game unique in order to truly let you unleash the Force.”

Yeah. I'm freakin ecstatic today. Brawl and now this!!! The only thing missing would be like a online demo to MoHH2 and i'd wet myself.G4 wrote: One of the great dreams of Nintendo fans will be coming true this spring, when The Force Unleashed allows us all to control a light saber with a Wii-mote. Praise Odin!
Plus, as an added Wii exclusive, the Nintendo version of The Force will feature a duel mode in which players can compete head-to-head with their friends to determine the ultimate Jedi Master. Yeah. That might be the most awesome idea ever. Whether online duels will be available hasn't been announced, but we're hoping.
The Force Unleashed casts players as Darth Vader’s “Secret Apprentice” and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The game’s story is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist old Dark Helmet in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi – and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.

I found out today, awsome! Now I won't have to buy it for PS2! I don't care if it comes out for PC or not now IMO
. I hope it's like wii sports baseball compared to just swinging the remote and a saber animation happens.

Simply brilliant. I was thinking I'd be getting this for PS2, just cause it looked so good. Even if the engine does have to be wimped-down a little, having the immersion provided by using the Wiimote and 'chuck will more than make up for it.

YES!!
I was so angry when the Lucasarts site said just PS3, 360 and DS.
I hope the controls are like Zelda, because those would make the most sense. (and probably provide the best gameplay)

Re: We can unleash the force
I agree. I was very sad when it was announced only for the 3 consoles mentioned, because that meant that I wouldn't be getting it (I only have the DS of the 3, and Star Wars games on DS...well...let's just say I'm not a fan of them). So this is awesome for me.Hebes24 wrote:

The LA forums say that the controls are wiimote = saber and nunchuck = force.

Awesome news! I don't have a Wii at the moment and haven't really decided if I want one, but I've been looking forward to this game enough that I might just have enough of a reason to buy one now.

Thanks Dohnutt.
I'm more excited for the duel mode. I don't care if it's online or not. It's just that cool. I'm thinking it'll play like Zelda but with more advanced motions. Like how you swing the wiimote interprets very closely to real life/in-game.
Yeah I'm totally excited. 2nd 08 Wii game or 3rd? I'm talking about Mario Kart Wii, Force, and Top Spin 3.
OFFTOPIC: Yeah M_T looks like a cracked out smiley. And yesterday the
