Which file tells map which skydome to use?

Post by TWINKEYRUNAWAY »

Ive hit a fork in the road recently. Im working with a ground map resource that has different sky/skydomes/skyboxes(Whatever the terminoloy is for the sky) and im having trouble getting the map to change the sky. Im using/editing GAB's alzoc blizzard 2.0 assets to learn/get some depth on map making. What makes the map special is that it uses different sky boxes for different modes.(Like day time sky for conquest or a night time sky for a different mode.) Ive looked up how to make/edit a sky dome but im not looking to edit them. I just want it so that I can use one of the pre-exisiting day time sky domes for galactic conquest which by defualt in the resource file is night and no matter what I do to the odf or lua for that specific game mode it doesnt change. Ive already tried copying/replacing stuff from another game mode that has the desired skydome and putting it into the lua I want to change the skydome for and that hasnt been successful. Does anyone know what specific file tells the game what skydone to use if it has multiple skydomes?

It would be the map's .lua file that loads a .lvl containing the sky information. So I highly recommend checking out this tutorial from the FAQ. I know you're not necessarily trying to make random skies but this tutorial explains how to load multiple skies into the same map.

:D Thank you very much jedimoose. I had a hard time finding that thread! *Also I just re-watched one of your side making videos, it cleared a lot of stuff regarding file size. You should keep making more wonderful videos when you get the chance/inspiration*

Would it be possible to get a video about adding custom sounds for weapons using anakin's edited bat file?:

You could probably find some cool sounds not from the vanilla game and it could be cool to mess with. I think it would help those who have their own sound effects and wanted to put them into battlefront.
