Help with texturing and roadkill. [Solved]
I installed roadkill for xsi mod tool. When using the interactive roadkill window the save option is greyed out, I can click it and my UV layout is preserved in the texture editor, but I still want to fix it. Also how do I make a texture have the UVs pasted on to it? So I can have an image of just the UVs and paint over that in gimp.

Re: Help with texturing and roadkill.
That is the normal workflow of using the Roadkill plugin for XSI, you do the bulk of your UV work quickly in Roadkill then tweak the results in the Texture Editor as you see fit. If you aren't satisfied with what you see in Roadkill then you could tweak it there before sending it back to XSI. I always found the tools in Roadkill somewhat clumsy to use though.MileHighGuy wrote:I installed roadkill for xsi mod tool. 'Stamp UV Mesh' is what you're looking for.MileHighGuy wrote:how do I make a texture have the UVs pasted on to it? So I can have an image of just the UVs and paint over that in gimp.

You can change the colors of the stamped mesh etc too.

Thanks Ace. Can I do anything about the save button in the roadkill window? It is greyed out for some reason.

Roadkill is a standalone program, the plugin for XSI just allows data to be sent back and forth automatically. Saving is available when you launch Roadkill by hand from the exe.

Re: Help with texturing and roadkill.
I have an issue with getting the new texture to apply. I selected my new texture in phong>image. In the texture editor the UVs match up with the new texture. Yet it only uses the old texture, a plain blue image.
This will explain it. http://i.imgur.com/O7eK7nJ.png?1
Edit: also, how do I select the texture projection created in roadkill? I think thats what I need.
EDIT: I fixed it. Its all good now.

In the Texture Editor, go to Clips and select the image you want to be displayed.MileHighGuy wrote:I have an issue with getting the new texture to apply. I selected my new texture in phong>image.
