Battlefront II won't work!
SWBF2 randomly decided to stop working. It happened probably a month or so ago. Whenever I try to start it up, it just runs incredibly slowly, and when I try to load a map, if never loads. It just sits there at the loadscreen forever. I have this problem on both of my computers. Both of my computers seem to have developed this problem at the same time, but I'm not certain, because I rarely use the other computer. I've tried reinstalling the game, and I deleted every mod I have, but nothing seems to work. Please help!

How full is your hard drive? How fast did Battlefront II used to run? When is the last time you have defragmented your hard drive? When is the last time you have performed a registry cleanup?Faceman2000 wrote:SWBF2 randomly decided to stop working. It happened probably a month or so ago. Re: Battlefront II won't work!
My hard drive has 319 GBs of free space left. SWBF2 used to run perfectly, no lag, and the maps would load in no time at all on this computer. The others ancient and has little free space, but it would still load Battlefront II without too much delay. I don't believe I've ever defragmented my hard drive or performed a registry clean up.

Re: Battlefront II won't work!
Sorry it took a while, I've been busy. Neither of those helped. Any other ideas?

You used them and everything, not just downloaded and installed them?

Re: Battlefront II won't work!
Of course.
EDIT: My dad tried to load a map on Battlefront II while I was at a basketball game, and it had loaded when I got home. I don't know how long it had taken for it to load, but at least I know they load eventually. Any other ideas on what I can do? I really want to get this game working again.

Re: Battlefront II won't work!
My best guess is your computer(s) cought a virus. I hate it when that happens. You might have to go to a computer tech and check it out. Happend to me before, was a real pain. It shouldn't cost more than $250-ish to get it fixed if thats the case. That fits the "random" part of it. Did you download anything recently when it stopped working?

I doubt it, but you never know. What anti-virus software do you use? Also, do you have a hardware and/or software firewall?Tears2Roses wrote:My best guess is your computer(s) cought a virus. Holy cow! I wish I made $250 every time I fixed someone's virus-ridden computer.Tears2Roses wrote:My best guess is your computer(s) cought a virus. I hate it when that happens. Or at least $10 for every hour spent trying to get the viruses off... Oh wait, same amount...Teancum wrote: Holy cow! I wish I made $250 every time I fixed someone's virus-ridden computer.
Back on topic, I'll agree with Marth, I doubt its a virus, because then your whole computer would be slowing down (not just Battlefront), and I never really even see viruses that just slow down your computer (they usually steal information or try and get you to buy something). But run a virus scan, just to be on the safe side

Re: Battlefront II won't work!
like I say it was a very rough estimate. I think they did more than remove the viruses when they fixed my computer...But it still doesnt work right...Teancum wrote:Holy cow!
