Re: SketchUp Models
Technically, it will work with any number above or equal to three, because that's the minimum number of sides a polygon can have, I can see no reason why the Google People would put a limit on it.
Eaol, thats just plain awesome to have made in sketchup, which is horrible at things like that. Nice work.

Close but no cigar.
Or cookie.
It was in a recent video game.
And now for another planet...inspired by same videogame...

Note I am in very early stages of this one. The BRIDGE is empty for now, but is the only land part of it. This WORLD will have to wait. Can you guess what it is?

Looks cool, I'd suggest changing the parts that connect the bridges a bit, check some reference pics to see what I mean.

Re: SketchUp Models
Cato Neimoidia
Was doing that but in fact there is a major part that looks like that. Then there are a few beams that fall under detail category. Same with buildings I need to do.
EDIT: My new Coruscant model. I have the enormous model because I always wanted to do a map with land to space.

Coruscant: CoCo District

Cato Neimoidia: Hanging Cities

Re: SketchUp Models
Probably because your making all these models with the idea of making a lot of land to space maps, but you haven't made any PoC maps so far, so I'm guessing he's afraid it may not be truly possible, or it could mean you'd have to adapt all your work up till now, which would be a shame of course.

Re: SketchUp Models
Because it can be difficult and you may have to redo/retexture large parts of models.

For picture taking, get rid of all the annoying guides. It looks so much better.TK432 wrote:thanks guys. i will post a pic of it when its done

EDIT: Finally, I finished another one of my corridors. All that I need to do is to put in my lightbulbs(which need to be completly remodeled).

Re: SketchUp Models
What do you mean? Like to a power of 2 such as 512x512 or 1024x1024?DarthD.U.C.K. wrote:looks good although you should either use higher resoluted textures or tile them if ou want to get these ingame

This tutorial by Colonel_Klink shows you how to flatten out the model and take a screen of it. It helped me and it will allow you to have basically a UV and the whole texture will be a power of 2.
