Audio Clips for Characters
I am working on a mod with a few friends and we have a problem. We want to play audio clips as characters enter and exit the game, but I don't know how to get the audio that we have into the right format for what we need. Could someone remind me of the specifications for audio files that can play in a BF2 mod? Also, does anyone know how to convert files to those specifications? I remember hearing that they need to be 352kbps (among other things), but none of the audio converters that I have can convert higher than 320kbps.

Is PCM the same as WAV?

So, the program you referred me to can't change the bitrate. I have the 22kHz, 16-bit, and mono all set up, but there's no place to make it 352kbps. Suggestions?

It will be 352kbps automatically when you export it with 22kHz, 16-bit, and mono

Windows Sound Recorder can convert these files to the right format also, as long as they're .wav files to begin with.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder

Interesting...when I go into dbpoweramp and choose the preset "PCM 22.050kHz 16-bit Mono", it shows something on the right that says "43 kb/sec." Does this mean I won't get the output file at 352 kb/sec?

Why don't you simply try it?

Re: Audio Clips for Characters
I plan on it. But I won't be the one to test it out; that's someone else's role in this project. I only wanted to know if the seasoned veterans on this forum would be able to give me some assurance that this procedure won't be a wasted effort.
Which brings me back to my question: dbpoweramp says 43kbps, but I need 352. Will this work anyway?

I just looked into that, it doesn't matter that it says 43kb/sec there. I exported a sound with Windows Sound Recorder at what look like the exact same settings you're talking about. When I checked the properties of the exported file it says that the bit rate is 352kbps, which is what you need.
