I intend to do a load of work on Aldura over break, but it's all behind-the-scenes stuff, and I've been dying to show off some of the other things I've been working on as side projects.
So I present you with:
Baroonda: Coastline

Wow, that looks like something from the Caribbean. Very nice lighting and atmosphere. Will be looking forward to the release!! I also noticed in the last pic that there are a couple TIE Bombers flying off in the distance. Are there going to be flyable ships as well??
Btw, will this have custom sides??

Nice use of Dagobah props, you gave them a daytime feel. Since this was a map in Racer, are you planning on adding a racing mode?

Re: Baroonda: Coastline
Very nice.
The fourth screenshot down is (imo) the most impressive - it looks rather realistic. But as D.U.C.K. said, maybe a new ground texture would be better. Or maybe change the tile rate of the current texture...?

Wow, finally, a map that doesn't use mountain props! I'll be watching this one.

I remember this from Racer, great job. I do have one question: Are you thinking of adding in a volcano? I remember seeing a few in Racer, so I figured that one might be seen in the background or something.

Re: Baroonda: Coastline
To answer all the various questions:
-No pilot-able flyers, but occasionally you might catch a glimpse of some bombers zooming overhead.
-It will eventually have custom sides, but I'm not sure what I'll do for them yet.
-No racing mode. Lately I've just been in the mood to make some simple conquest/ctf-based maps. If I want to relive my childhood days of podracing, I'll just dust off the ol' N64.
-No volcanoes. I tried to get as many features of the planet as I could - coast, jungle, swamp - but there wasn't really a place for volcanoes. Of course, they do provide good material for another map.
At any rate, for now I'm only making one Baroonda map.
-About the ground texture: I'm working on it. I don't particularly like how much it contrasts with the foliage, so I'm playing around with it a bit.

Re: Baroonda: Coastline
Just throwing another idea in here - maybe you could add a slight blur to the map, like in Endor. I was surprised at how much of a difference such a small change made to some of my maps. But it's your map, so your call.
