I've been messing around with the
Particle Editor some lately.
And I made some new effects...
Crazy Blue Explosion (can't think of a better name)
W.I.P Nuke Explosion
Still needs some work...
They are downloadable here...

EDIT -
Errgh! I mean to post this in the
Map/Mod Works In Progress for SWBF2 topic.
Can a mod or admin move this?

This is giving me some ideas...I like it.....
Try creating a more "smoke suction" into the funnnel (along the ground) with the nuke, for more realism, and let the "nuke pillar" become more rigid, and less pillar feeling...

Those are neat. I have a lot of custom effects that I've done, and wouldn't mind showin em off as well. You mind if we turn this into a custom effects showcase thread?

Sure, why not!
I'll change the subject.
Maybe we can get this stickied or something so it's not lost in the millions of threads.

That'd be sweet, having an effects showcase thread
Nice effects Karnage, I like the nuke

Very cool! The nuke looks pretty cool, but it's too... empty at the bottom. But it's very good.
Any chance you could make a smoke grenade?

Funny, I was just about to post saying something like that....
Smoke grenades don't seem to affect the computer players though, that's probably why no one uses them

Isn't it possible to make it so it's so dense that AI can't see through it?

Theres a command you can set in the lua to make AI use new thinking to mimic combat in a fog, dust, or otherwise 'limited visiblity' area, but its applied on the whole map. Im sure it could be put into lua as part of a weapon, but so far noones figured it out, and few have tried as its a relativly trivial thing.
I might get a bunch of pics up later. I too made a smoke grenade. I will be using mine and the one mentioned above - the one above is more for impairment of sight, where as mine is meant to allow site within it, while keeping enemies from hitting you. This is because mine is intended for use by medics, who may need cover if rushing out into an otherwise open battlefield to provide assistance.

This is a quote from Tean' in the Smoke Grenade thread:
Teancum wrote: I think in the luas there's something about DenseEnvironment() that affects how far they can see.
Does it work?

That's the LUA code, it would make that apply for the whole map.
