My model wont work
i followed the basic modelling with xsi tutorial using mod tools and my doorway object doesnt work
when i export the scene using crosswalk into a .xsi file it still has the .exp tho it says doorway.exp.xsi could that be the problem?

Re: My model wont work
exporting creates another "scene" in the xsi format, your old scene wont be changed if you should mean that?!
maybe you didnt change the name when exporting it, but that doesnt matter, because .xsi is the last extensions the .exp wont be more than a part ofthe scenes name

Re: My model wont work
wouldnt it be better to search for the problem instead of asking somebody to export it for you?
that isnt meant rudely

Re: My model wont work
ok
EDIT
ive looked 4 like 20 mins. and havent rly found much. i made a new object (a jet) very basic since im new 2 mod tools and i exported it and it didnt show up in ZE. here's the steps i did.
1) i created a null and renamed it 2 dummyroot
2) i made the model and put the objects under dummyroot
3) i duplicated it and named that collision and merged them
4) then i saved it and exported it as an xsi model
5) then i used mshex thing from repsharpshooter
6) then i tried 2 put it in ze and nothing shows up
wat am i doing wrong or not doing???

Patience young Padewan, oh wait you're Jango you are one of the bad guys.
Anyway on to your problem, when you are doing the crosswalk export are you branch selecting the Dummyroot (middle click on the word dummyroot) and you are selecting 6.0 text as the type of file to export.

Re: My model wont work
I don't know much about the cockpit, you'd probably need a hardpoint of some sort.
You didn't texture it? Models need to be textured before they can be exported. Exporting an untextured model will result in a crash.

Re: My model wont work
That tutorial assumes use of the Pandemic XSI addon, not RepSharpshooter's MshEx. If you use the latter, it must have a texture.

Re: My model wont work
Mav beat me to it. Yes, MshEx is unable to handle untextured things.

Re: My model wont work
Please don't doublepost.
MshEx has some special requirements for exporting - everything you export with MshEx must have a texture. It would be best right now for you to just create a model - no lowrez, no collision, just a model - put it under dummyroot, and then export paying careful attention to MshEx's instructions.
Note that your model will still have collision; models without collision have collision generated for them automatically by VisualMunge.

Re: My model wont work
As a further slightly off-topic note, you can create a model without a collision by giving it an msh.option with the line -nocollision.
