Maybe. I'm trying to talk with my dad about it (family computer). I'm thinking of running it on another hard drive.

If you use the standard settings, by the way, the Grub bootloader overwrites the Windows one and sets Ubuntu as the default OS, so to fix this, during installation you should click the Advanced button on the last Ubuntu installation screen, tell it to install the bootloader to the partition you're installing Ubuntu to instead of the root of the partition, and then use EasyBCD to add the entry to the Windows bootloader. (If you need more specific directions, ask away.)
