Re: Model showcase thread
Ace Mastermind is correct. Starship Troopers is the answer, or to be more specific, the Arachnid Warriors from Starship Troopers. They are the "grunts" of the bug forces and pwn some serious arse. Aklay Animations might be possible, but the skeleton (ie. the neck/head area) would seriously mess up the front end. IF you are really determined to use this ingame. Study how the sekeletons are setup and try to build a new one. Custom Animations will be a pain though, esp the walk cycles and the attacks.
Very nice model, but sharpen the interior section of the claws, which will also reduce the poly count as hard edges use less polys then cylinders. Also, the legs are connected to another section mounted below the body (similar to a tank turret mounted n the tank body), so a new poly mesh is needed. For the middle section of the body, you could probably flatten tthe ends out (the parts that are inside the rear and head) and use less polys that way. Still, all in all, very nice model.

Have you ever seen Starship Troopers? The "bugs" man!{501st}Commander_Appo wrote:With legs?????
@VF501
Hard edges are just a crease between 2 adjoining polygons to create a sharp or abrupt edge.

Let me guess...... D_Z13?ARC_Commander wrote:That pistol is too cool. Now, if only [blank] would only send me his models, BFX would be on par with The Battlefront Project... BTW, when researching for BFX, I realized that it's not Thire in CW:V2, it's "Commander Fordo".

Yeah, thunder, don't give up, that's looking better. Modeling takes experience, I've been modeling for over three years.
