Oblivion: Elder Scrolls IV troubles.

Ya, I have this game for the 360. and I sorta frigged my self over. Okay I did this challenge where I had to find this lady's husband cuz some Orc mafia dude (users there called) so I go to the Orc and he tells me that he'll tell me where the husband is if I find his ax in an destroyed fort. so go there it's a trap find the guy I have to kill all these users cuz they locked us in. so I come out of the fort and the Orc killed the husband so I kill him and search the corpse for the key to get out of the fort. after that the objective pops up Search [orc's name]'s corpse for a way out of here. but I already so I can't get past this objective cuz I already got the key before the objective. I got out fine but I can't finish the quest cuz I did the objective before it was ordered. Is there anyway I can fix this?

Cna you drop inventory items and pick them up again? If I was a dev, I would have scripted the segment to react to the acquisition of the key, so if you drop it and pick it back up, that might fix your problem.

I tried to do that but it said I can't drop quest Items.

try turing off all mods, i know ooo got in my way during a quest before

I was thinking that too. but I don't save much. Only when I turn the 360 off. so my last save was last time I played.... and I got a heck of a lot farther then my last save.

Do you have the autosave feature enabled? I keep that on so it saves like, every time I go through a door or teleport.

EGG_GUTS: I have had the same problem with a different quest. I love oblivion and play it alot. If you dont do the quest in the right order, it will stuff up. It has happened before and I had to start quest over again. What I did was I save ALOT and just reload incase I die in a quest (Like entering Oblivion). I dont know what to recommend as you havent saved it as much as I have.
