I have noticed some games with no time or score limit...they seem to go on until somebody calls in a nuke. I have also been in a game with infinite ammo with no reloads. My friend tells me its some private match glitch...do these games effect stats because in some of these I have done poorly.

Re: Modern Warfare 2
Ok, this is slightly off topic, but has anyone seen this Star Wars mod for the original Modern Warfare: http://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-mod ... ic-warfare
I think I'll reinstall Call of Duty 4 for this.
Reminds me a bit of First Strike mod, but with better graphics.

A RANT
A total big FAIL
You/we have all been mislead by the hype for the PC version. If your a PC gamer of the call of duty series you have not got what was promised
Truth in Advertising
According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), “advertising must be truthful and non-deceptive… advertisers must have evidence to back up their claims… and advertisements cannot be unfair.”
Deceptive Advertising
According to advertising law, an advertisement is considered deceptive if it contains a statement or omits information that “is likely to mislead consumers acting reasonably under the circumstances; and is, ‘material’ - that is, important to a consumer's decision to buy or use the product.“
Essentially, the law states that your advertising cannot be misleading. You have to tell the truth, or clearly label your ads so that no reasonable person could mistake your intent. Advertisers [and their advertising agencies] need to have a reasonable basis for advertising claims before they are published.
This game IS NOT what it states on the back cover...THE RETURN OF THE DEFINITIVE MULTIPLAYER EXPERIENCE!!!
Implied Claims
An implied claim is an indirect claim made in an advertisement. For example, “THE RETURN OF THE DEFINITIVE MULTIPLAYER EXPERIENCE” is an implied claim. The implication is that the product is the same as previous call of duty games .Therefore it should have the same dedicated server experience for the PC Version.I keep checking and checking and it still says PC DVD ROM on my copy. Not chuffing xbox360/PS3so were is our definitive multiplayer experience
The FTC judges claims on what a reasonable consumer would assume given the entirety of the advertisement and all of the claims made. Advertising law says that the implied claim must be true and substantiated.
Infinty ward you have failed in all of the above statement

I think only 20% or less of the people here bought it for the PC anyway...
I mean, it was pretty obvious IW built it for the consoles even when it was in development.

It's true, and while IWNet does suck, it's decent, and it's still a lot of fun to play. I do wish they'd give in a get dedicated servers already.

Re: Modern Warfare 2
I think if you already have Call of Duty 4 for PC theres really no need to get this.
I only buy PC games if there is some sort of upgrade. The engine looks basically the same with less options.

Ah, but there's a great storyline, awesome multiplayer (even if IWNet does suck) and crazy awesome co-op.Jendo7 wrote:I think if you already have Call of Duty 4 for PC theres really no need to get this.

Re: Modern Warfare 2
I think I'm just gonna have to say that this is one of the worst games I've played in a while. The campaign is boring and confusing, I have no idea what's going on in it, Spec Ops is also boring, and then the MP is just annoying, considering that you die in just two or three shots and that it's not ranked or anything. The guns that you start with are all really bad, and it becomes harder to level up quickly because everyone else levels up faster due to their good arsenals, and then the gameplay gets extremely repetitive extremely quickly, as matchmaking almost always chooses wasteland and afghan, which IMO are the worst maps in the game, and there is barely any variation to the gameplay by gametype and most of the maps play very similarly. This is all my opinion, don't flame me for it or anything.

I don't suppose you've ever played any sequels to games, since most game sequels usually keep the same engine.Jendo7 wrote:I think if you already have Call of Duty 4 for PC theres really no need to get this.

Re: Modern Warfare 2
I think it was really the content they left out more than the engine, as most sequels although basically the same, usually add more stuff as an incentive for people to buy them. In my opinion MW2's release was based on hype.Grev wrote:I don't suppose you've ever played any sequels to games, since most game sequels usually keep the same engine.Jendo7 wrote:I think if you already have Call of Duty 4 for PC theres really no need to get this.

I can't tell if you're serious or not, but in the eventuality that you are...Precise_Moon wrote:RAGE
"The return of the definitive MP experience" is them saying that they are once again releasing a product that represents a definitive MP experience. If they think that their changes have redefined the standard then that's their prerogative to advertise that. Whether or not that statement holds water to you personally is irrelevant... but you can't seriously be claiming you were somehow mislead as to what you were buying?
Advertisers have a lot of leeway with what they can and cannot put on packaging, and when you start whinging about something that is a matter of opinion - no matter how many people may support your opinion - you're on the losing side in that argument. If a game dev were to put "2009 Game of the Year" on their packaging and they were not in fact the game of the year that year, then that would be false advertising. But surely you are joking anyway and I'm just overanalyzing things.
