Bandu's Sith Speeder Map With Original Sound/Music BETA

Post by Vyse »

(NOTE: The Words in this map will be all messed up because of a error during the munge, its not your computer just the map.)

This is a map I have been working on for a couple of days. I thought I would go ahead and release the beta while waiting for the mod tools. Its supposed to be from the scene where Darth Maul is searching for the Queen on tatoonie . Thanks to Bandu’s beautiful Sith Speeder Model the map looks pretty good.

I added custom sounds from the movie to Bandu’s Sith Speeder so it sounds like the one from the movie. Along with the music from the movie as well. I used the Darth Maul skin released with the mod tools. The Sniper rifle in the map is unique, when you hit the zoom button you can use the forward and backward button to zoom in really far. (Like the binoculars)

I hope everyone likes it. I am interested in what everyone would like to see or removed. I did add a weapon to the Sith Speeder just for fun, but I am not sure if I will leave it in there. Thanks Bandu for making these wonderful models, there great!!! Have Fun!

Very fun! I was able to do the "fly off the cliff" thing from the movies without blowing up at the bottom! :P The words, as you said, were all messed up... I had that once, but I forgot how it happened and what fixed it.
Sound effects that you added were great, and the music... Episode I is my least favorite Star Wars soundtrack (except Duel of the Fates :D ), but the music you selected was very cool.

Its funny .... for the test map I had while making/testing the speeder I actually setup the map simlar to what youv done in your pics (with the big ridge) .

I was wondering when some1 would do a proper map like that :)

Vyse, might I know what mesh you've used for your "custom-made" Darth Maul ?
Also, could you list the names of Star Wars musics you've integrated in your map, please ?

Thanks in advance !...

As Bandu said the MSH was Mace Windu's, you can find the texture in the REP side folder called jedimale i believe.

The Star Wars Music I put in was from the Ultimate Episode I soundtrack, oh and I also took the last 30 or so seconds from the regular Episode I soundtrack.

Did anyone notice the quick setup of Luke's Homestead to the north of the map? It would be cool to have a map centered around it! Although the suken dwelling Mesh doesn't appear finished.

As soon as I saw the Mesh in game I knew I would have to make a map with it. Hope you like it! :D

I've searched many times over for a proper Darth Maul mesh in the files, no luck. So I asked Fred. He said he just threw the skin together one day to fit Mace's mesh.

I'm definitely downloading this one! :D

Okay, I just got done playing it and it's pretty fun! The music and sound effects were a great addition too! This map will be great for online play!

BTW- How did you get your own music into this? I have lots of Star Wars music that I'd love to put into some of my levels!

I love the map it is awsome. The sniper rifle is a great addition to the game along with the binoculers. The darth maul head could use a little more work but great job. I love hitting the cliff at full speed that was the best. anyway way to go vyse and bandu.

Era', you should download psych0fred's Chain Isle map's source files to learn how to use your own musics in SWBF...

Music is set up based on triggers in SWBF. I.e. start of the game, middle of the game, in vehicle music etc. I have done this but I like a solid stream of music going continuly. (like most games) So I setup a sound stream for the music. Chain Isle's uses the regular setup not a soundstream like my map. :)

Talking of that, psych0fred has posted a thread dedicated to "Sound Streams" here... I think it might help those who'd like to set up theirs...
