Reload/inbetween shot anims
Hi, I'm just wondering if it's possible to change the reload and inbetween shot anims for rifles.

Re: Reload/inbetween shot anims
Before it is, I should mention that it might be possible to take the reload anims from other weapons. Yes? For instance, give the rocket launcher reload anim to the sniper rifle (for whatever odd reason).

Yes I knew about that, but I wasn't sure if the game engine could handle new weapon anims.

But it will need hand/arms/caracter anim, besides the weapon anim, right?

What?
You may need to munge a new animset for the specific unit, yes, if that's what you meant.

you have to munge a new animationset, you can mix any anims you want, but to make new ones, you need a full version of xsi and the pandemictools

I can't use other modelling softwere, such as 3ds max 2009? And them export the new animation file ?

Re: Reload/inbetween shot anims
You'd still need the full version of XSI. The only portal to export animation files into SWBF2 is the Pandemic tools, which only work with the full version of XSI. You can export unanimated things via MshEx or the MSH Viewer, but no anims.

Re: Reload/inbetween shot anims
Alright, one more question can the anims be CREATED in 3ds max 2009 and other modeling programs and still be able to be used in bf2 (assuming we have the full version of XSI and all the other stuff to get anims into the game)?

As long as you can import animations made in Max to XSI, then I'm fairly certain yes.

Re: Reload/inbetween shot anims
Alright then, I know I said that would be my last question but do you need both the character model and the weapon model to create the anims or can you just use the weapon itself?

Re: Reload/inbetween shot anims
In Battlefront, weapon anims ARE the character anims. Weapons having their own animations aren't supported, and then hands would need a new skeleton.Gen.Kenobi wrote:But it will need hand/arms/caracter anim, besides the weapon anim, right?
