Incredible! Very well done!
This is starting to look very polished in my opinion. I think that the lighting should be a bit more orange though. A bit more dust would not hurt either in my opinion, but its your map. I can't wait for the release!

Two critiques:
1-The rocks don't match your terrain. I would recolor one or the other
2-I would edit the alpha channel for that cave bridge texture to get rid of the ice on the rails

May I ask you to use Dragonum's CIS cruisers?

Not the same kind of strafing. The strafing in the limitations thread is in reference to fighters moving from side to side, not firing their weapons.did the impossible. To clarify, the "Things that are impossible in SWBFII thread" or something to that nature, said that it was impossible for fighters to strafe like they did in BF1, I thought otherwise.

Re: WIP: Clone Wars: Landing at Point Rain
Wow
, this has come a long way from when I last looked at it. There is no other way to describe the look other than BF2-stock-map-quality. All of the textures go together nicely and the airfield was a brilliant touch (not to mention the strafing runs). This must be a huge map if you are stressing the limits of Battlefront. I look forward to the release.

Re: WIP: Clone Wars: Landing at Point Rain
I must appologise that I haven't done an update yet. I've spent most of spring break relaxing so I didn't get much time in on the mod. The six hours or so that I did put in were spend solely on the campaign which has been lagging behind segnificantly due to the fact that I still don't understand how to do voiceovers. The campaign is currently classified, i'll tell the full story once beta comes out but not a word before then. All I will say is that I am trying to tell a good story and it would be a shame to spoil it in the WIP thread. Also I can't continue on the conquest mode until I finally get those props i've been asking for. Until my modelers give me the bridge, the hive, the catacombs, and the shield generator I can't make hub 4 (which is the only part of the map still unfinished).
Also, if any of you know how to make, or have ever used voiceover, PLEASE TEACH ME! There always seems to be something that i'm missing and since VO doesn't render error messages I have no idea how to track it down. If any of you know how to get VO working I would really appreciate it if you could send me a PM with some general instructions on how to setup the sound folder for it and how to get the streams to work. (no tut links please, i've read and re-read them five times now)

Well, news has finally arrived. Best of luck with VOs and getting the props. If I see anything useful, I'll let you know.

It's a Republic light assault cruiser. You'll see one of them in the first scene of the Phantom Menace.Darth_Squoobus wrote:I wonder though: What are those republic capital ships? They definitely aren't Acclamators.

Re: WIP: Clone Wars: Landing at Point Rain
I adressed the acclamator complaint earlier, I attempted to use acclamators but they are just too dang big! its not so much the width as the height though. Either I had to have the republic cruiser clip the "roof" of the map or I had to have it clip the spires, its like 200 meters high and the maxflightheight is set at 280...

I'm not talking about those. I'm talking about the big gray ones, the ones that look kind of like Intedictors.Nova Hawk wrote:It's a Republic light assault cruiser. Ah, thanks AQT. I couldn't find the right link to that one and the two ships looked pretty similar.AQT wrote:Off-topic: That one was actucally this one: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Consular ... ce_cruiserNova Hawk wrote:You'll see one of them in the first scene of the Phantom Menace.

Re: WIP: Clone Wars: Landing at Point Rain
I got rid of those altoghether, if you will notice they don't appear in the latest updates. The final release will have republic consular class corvettes and CIS munificent frigates.Darth_Squoobus wrote:I'm not talking about those. Re: WIP: Clone Wars: Landing at Point Rain
This may just be me, but I'd be pretty ticked if I got killed by a grenade that I couldn't see. The glow makes it visible so that you don't miss it roll up to you. That's why so many games without glow have the obnoxious bounce-tick noise, and a small smoke trail.wishihadaname wrote:I'm hesitant about using rockets because i'm already killing my fx memory pool just by the number of units on the field... I can't really cut back any futher on counts. ATM is 120 reps vs. 100 droids, any less and the map won't look like a battle anymore. So i'm using as many non fx related things as possible, for example there is no glow on grenades and mines because really, who's ever seen a glowing grenade and whats the point of having your mines be so visible?
Also, to cut down on effects, remove the tunnel smoke.

Re: WIP: Clone Wars: Landing at Point Rain
Alright guys, since this map is dedicated to the community that helped me learn so much about modding i'll leave an important decision to you. Should I include a full campaign, a mini campaign, or no campaign?
The reason I ask this question is because i'm having a very hard time with scripting the campaign and more importantly I am not getting my questions answered, namely VO and timers. If I scrap the campaign all toghether I can have this released as soon as I get the assets for the bridge and factory, some time within the next 2 weeks. If I include a mini campaign it would not be very intricate, have no VO, and not have very meny objectives. I could have that made within the next three weeks. But if you guys want the epic story that i had written out at the beggining of development then I am going to need ALOT of help with scripting and ALOT of time, this won't come out earlier then june if I go for full.
So everyone who is still following this map, please cast your votes.

Re: WIP: Clone Wars: Landing at Point Rain
I say full campaign, but VOs aren't completely necissary. Take Christphsis and Teth: They were amazing but had no VOs. But if you want this to be even more awsome, then feel free to have VOs. But my opinion is you don't really need them.
